Oh, how I love Alabama news broadcasts

For those of you who don't live in the South- I'm here to tell you....it's honest to God true that news people, be in CNN or a local station, WILl find THE most redneck, Billy-Bob, ghetto Southerner to interview on TV. Holy Geez.

I know rape is NOTHING, NOTHING to joke about, but as Usher would sing....Oohhh My God. This guy had me rolling! Thank you Huntsville, Alabama news. I must have watched it about 10 times since 4:00. Watch it all- but the funny sh** doesn't occur until about the 1:00 minute mark....

"...so y'all better hide ya kids, hide ya wife AND hide ya husband cuz they rapein' errbody out hurr!"

5 miles, I LAUGH in your face!

Today. My friends. Today, was the first day I have EVER ran (read: completed) 5 miles during one run! I know, I know. Not much to most people, but extremely AMAZING for me. I felt good during, only a few moments I felt too light-headed and I finished in 1:04. I was hoping for a 1 hour time- But honestly? I'm proud of myself and proud like hell of this time. I have 12 more weeks to train and I can only imagine what it'll feel like to complete 6, 7, 8 miles at one time. SO happy right now!!

Thanks for the input on color selection. I'm no closer to choosing a dang THING. I'm getting overwhelmed with this guest room. Usually I know EXACTLY what I want- what colors, scheme, etc., but I want too many things for this bedroom. I wanted an accent wallpapered wall (because wallpaper is SO in right now), then I thought about just a cool and modern wall decal- WAIT. Then I'd need to change the wall color. Shit. Perhaps a funkier, bold statement curtain would be better than the ruffled one for this room? ARRGHH!!!!!!!!!! haha! I think I'll just focus on getting my bedding first and go from there. *deep breath*

Have you re-decorated your home/room/apartment lately? If so, do you ever get overwhelmed with all your options and HOW do you cope?

I heard rumors there won't be an Anthropologie sale in the morning. BOO freakin' HISS to that! I have MONEY.

OK! I'm out! I'm going to re-fuel :-)

CSN and my guestroom!

Just a quick blog for today, as I'm doing house work, cooking meals, etc for the upcoming week. Busy busy!

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of CSN by now- So many people in the blogging world are hosting CSN gift cards giveaways and doing reviews on products- I can see why! They have awesome stuff! I'm gathering items for my new lovely guest bedroom an, vanid I found that they had upholstered headboards and slipper chairs just like I envisioned in the room! YAY!!! At good prices, too!

I'm having difficulties picking a chair, though. I need your opinion. Imagine if you will:

Light bluish-gray walls
Gray Duvet and bedding
Accent colors of aqua/light blue and yellows

Now, these two chairs and these two color drapes I LOVE. But, which, IF ANY OF THEM, would look good with the gray bedding?? I have my opinion, but wanted external views. :-) I'm leaning more toward the ivory curtains and a pop of color from the slipper chair.

OOTN: J and her Crew

I'm going to tell you a secret about one of my many nicknames- One in which my Mom has for me. When I was younger, I was obsessed with The Nightmare on Elm Street Movies (did you just make an "Uhm. Ooookkkk. Weirdo..." face? That's really ok.)

So, my mom got the great idea to call me Ms. Crew. Like Krueger, except she spelled it Crew. This was before J. Crew was popular- and since my first name started with a J, somehow I got the nickname J. Crew. Yeah. Sometimes I wonder if that's not how the store came up with its name....true story.

ANYWAY.

Outfit of the night from last night. I had dinner with two of my Chi Omega sorority sisters from college, had too much wine and ripped my cardigan (I blame the cheap ass fabric! I hadn't even worn it until last night. Thanks J. Crew. Piece of CRAP-tastic cloth. It's not like I was playing "fat guy, little coat" or something.)

J. Crew Lorelei Dress
J. Crew (POS) Featherweight cotton bling-button cardigan
Anthropologie, Miss Albright Shoes
Owl Necklace, Forever 21

The photos look blurry. Sorry- not sure what's up with that, but you get the idea.
(Brady was doing some weird shit on my bed- hence my facial expression. Turned out funny though.)

After Brady decides to wake me up in the morning by standing on my chest, back, etc until he gets his milk bone, he lays right back down and does THIS BS!

Oh. Sorry. Am I bothering you, your highness?

He is SUCH a showoff, I swear.

Everyone have a fantastic weekend! I'm going for my first 5 mile run Saturday!! YIKES! Wish me luck.

It was an orange, brown-box kind of evening....

Anthropologie and their beautiful brown boxes. Don't most all stores ship in brown boxes? Whatever. Theirs sparkle.

I was THRILLED that the Tiny Windows Shirtdress FIT! A shirtdress actually fit over my big boobs?! I was so excited, I just stood in front of the camera and danced. Forgive my crazy hair- I just ran 3 miles after work today. And don't give a crap what it looks like. haha!

Some people who tried it on said it looks "homely" or "old woman-ish" on. Really? I mean, nice sports bra I have on showing off my uni-boob.....I think I look a little crazy at the moment THIS photo was taken.......

....but the dress, I think, is cute and girly! I can make it sexy. I WILL be bringing sexy back to this shirtdress.

The bodice is still a wee bit snug, but I'm still steadily losing weight/inches, so I'm not worried. I love it!

No....really.

I was just updating my little workout log thingy and decided it was absolutely necessary for me to post a photo of these hideous......parachute THINGS, is the best words I can use to describe them.....

Uhm. Really Anthro...No. No, really. What were you thinking offering these up? Hey, I bet you'll be able to snatch these up for years to come. NEVER gonna be sold out. (ha! Watch me be oh so wrong. And I'm sorry if you think these are cute. VERY sorry. haha)

Caffeined up: Anthropologie Sale's fault

Happy Tuesday.

What a night. Anthropologie sales kill my sleep patterns. Even if I didn't give a hoot about any items going on sale Tuesday mornings, I'd still toss and turn out of curiosity. Am I weird? I woke up at 3:45 on my own and stumbled to my computer to see the new sale items. Nothing on my wishlist (except three pairs of sandals) was cut-back, so back to bed I went.
(Does this last pair not remind you of the shoes you used to wear in the 90s? I still love them. Chunky heels and all!)
I almost bought a pair of the sandals I wanted, but stopped myself because I knew that in the next few weeks a few of the summer dresses I've been dying for will go on sale to make room for fall stock! (Oh and P.S. Early fall stock sucks for us ladies in the deep South. Seriously. Summer doesn't end until January!! Not lying. I'm wearing summer clothes well into Christmas-time. You know how many "heavy" coats I own? ONE.)

Did any of you other Anthro Lovers buy anything from the sale?

A few people asked about the recipes from my last post and I happily constructed a recipes page (Eat This!) up there ^, in the menu bar. I'll be adding more and more- so if you're into cooking and junk, stick around.

Workout:
Last night P90X Stretch was scheduled on the calendar- I always forget that even the stretching DVD is nothing to laugh at. It has it's tough moments- I'm pretty sure it's just the P90X Yoga in disguise...My hamstrings are STILL tight (I never did get a massage last weekend) and today's a run day...What do you do for your tight muscles- Specifically those pesky hamstrings??

I have so much to say, but I'm saving it for the next few days.....
* For the fasion followers of my blog, how do you feel about a weekly fashion post from followers? You know how Kim at Anthroholic has her weekly reader fashions? I don't know about you, but I LOVE that post every week! I love to see what other outfits people put together. If any of you would be intersted in seeing this and/or participating let me know. Even if it's just three submissions a week, it could be a fun feature for the rest of my followers!

There's lots of food in this post...

I decide to take advantage of the"additional pages" feature on blogger- I created a page specifically to record my weekly workouts, so if you're interested I'm going to start recording those on Monday! Check out the menu bar above this post.

I was a cooking fiend today! On the agenda: Cranberry Orange Muffins and Homestyle Turkey Meatloaf. Both turned out pretty good!

Cranberry Orange Muffins

Homestyle Turkey Meatloaf
Sure it looks like a bloody massacre, but I promise it is SO delicious. The best I've ever made, actually. There's meat under there somewhere.....

Brady just laid around all day. Damn lazy dog. :-) Sike. He's precious!

Also, did I mention I was contacted by Pom Wonderful a few weeks ago- They saw my blog and thought I'd be interested in their Pom Wonderful juice. Uhm. Heck yeah I would! I love their original juice, and they sent me an entire case of their Pom Blueberry. IT IS AMAZING. :-)

What did you do today? For me, the day came and went so quickly :-(

Here I am! If you're curious.

During my run yesterday, I realized I've been Little Miss MIA here recently. Good reason- because I have nothing to say. As you can see from my last post, I'm trying to get some extra money, but apparently no one wants my Coach wallet. LOL! May just pass it along to my Mom who wouldn't buy herself anything like that anyway.

I received my order from Ann Taylor LOFT Wednesday and was excited to do a little show-and-tell for ya, but the items sucked butt. I was disappointed in the quality of that Ribbon Dress (The hem? Look, I totally understand it's supposed to look "un-done" but I'm not really down with the whole Orphan Annie look) and the Sheath Shimmery-ish dress? LOVE! BUT, too tight. Eek! Sheath dresses are not good for women with any sort of a stomach. I sized UP in hopes the next size fits. We'll see. *fanghas crossed*

I placed an order with Old Navy *slash* Banana Republic *slash* GAP (I really like the fact you cans hop on ONE site from all three stores, and more, with just a click of the next TAB! I had so many coupon codes, I was in heaven!) and soon these items will reach my door:

All boring basics.
That is, AFTER they make the long trek to my old D.C. stomping grounds. BAha! Yeah. I hastily clicked CHEKOUT too fast and sent the damn shipment to my old address. Happily they were able to re-track and they're now on their way back south :-)

My goals for the fast approaching weekend:

* Get some rest. This week I've been much better about running and I'm feeling it.

* Therapeutic massage- My neck and shoulders have been knotted, knitted and curled up tighter than [insert annoying tight-ass's name here]'s butthole.

* Grocery Shopping. What fun. Not. The only shopping I dislike.

* Bake Cranberry Orange Muffins on Sunday for the office Monday morning. Sounds like a cheery way to start the work week, yeah?

* Grab some yogurt from the new yogurt place. I'm thinking Red Velvet or Cake Batter with no fruits. Only Heath and Reese's candy on top. Yeah. I said it.

* Run 3 miles Saturday.

* P90X, Sunday.

If you're a candle/scent lover- you'll wanna read this!

I LOVE candles. Yes, I DO. Yankee candles are my favorite, or they WERE until I found Candles By Victoria.

I've mentioned these candle in a previous blog...

She has a candle business based in Texas and has started from the ground up, and thanks to Beauty Guru's on YouTube and bloggers, she has REALLY become successful! Even if she hadn't had all of that support, I know she still would have made a killing. Her candles are TO DIE FOR! The scents are SPOT-on and really put out a lasting scent.

I was going to place an online order today (yikes!) and saw that you could host an online candle party of your own. I thought that was SUCH a cute idea- remember the candle parties you always got invited to back in the day?

So, I'm having an online candle party.

I'm inviting you all to my online candle party with Candles By Victoria!

All you have to do to participate in my partay is place an online order from Candles By Victoria. All orders will be shipped within 2-7 business days.

Visit the link below and if you decide you would like to place an order please leave my hostess number (2316) in the COMMENT box during the check out process or email my hostess number along with your name to victoria@candlesbyvictoria.com.

Even if you decide you can not order at this time, stop in and sign the guest book to enter in the free monthly candle giveaway!

My online candle party ends July 25th so order your candles today!! Remember my hostess number in the comment box: 2316

I know there must be someone you know who needs a candle!

P.S.- I recommend the candle packages. On the website click on "candles", then page 2. You'll see you can order 6 different candles for a lower price than individually. I usually like the biggest sized ones, but the 9 oz REALLY put off a good smell! Or try the scent shots. You can try out different scents if you have a tart burner before buying the big ones.

She also has a Scent Description page that helps you out a little with the choosing! :-)

Some of my favorites:
* Pink Sugar & Coconut (like the Aquoline perfume from Sephora? Yes!)
* Simply Delicious (for winter months)
* Reese's PB Cup (AMAZING!!)
* Bella Swan (Even if you're not a twilight fan- I'm NOT. Sorry- you'd love it!)
* Edward Cullen
* Pazzazy
* Angel Food Cake

Bye-bye junk.

The yard sale yesterday was a success! For anyone who's never had a yard sale (I'm sure someone out there never has)- DO IT! You can get rid of some random sh**! Like I said before, e-bay is amazing for selling my name brand and well-worth the money items that I just have no need for, but yard sales....Yes, ma'am, they shall set you free.

I made $250 bucks today- not a ton, but it can go towards a bill or some new clothes ;-)

I'm exhausted now- and don't want to do anything but zonk out in front of the television tonight. Tomorrow I'm listing some things on e-bay. If anyone is ever interested in the items I have for sale on e-bay look me up. My user ID name: chio4ever (gimmie a break. I was in college when I started my account).

Ann Taylor LOFT has 40% all regularly priced items this weekend ONLY. This is a great deal- so I suggest you get your hineys over to their website. Happy Saturday!

Gummified

Just thought everyone should know.....

I bought those Fiber Gummies- because I'm ALL about some fiber AND anything gummy...and I definitely just ate 8 of them. The label says not to exceed more than 4 a day.......to just add to the craziness, I found some long-lost gummi bears in my pantry. I just ate the entire 5 oz bag of Haribo Gummi Bears.............

Now, who here thinks I'll have a stomach ache soon. *Raises hand*

F***.

FOTD: Pita Pizza

Food of the day, people! I made two of these pita pizzas last night and saved the second one for my lunch today :-) They came out GREAT. even though I tweaked Gen's recipe a little. ONLY because I craved MORE, and I didn't have fresh basil leaves.

I slathered tomato paste on the whole wheat pitas, a dash of Frank's hot sauce, olive oil to coat and then stacked tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese all over that bad boy! Sprinkled with the only basil I had (dried??) and stuck it in the broiler. Mmmm...That's all I can say. I was quite happy.

FINISHED PRODUCT!

No wait. Now, THIS is the finished product ;-)

Enjoy your weekend! I'm having a yard sale on Saturday in hopes of getting rid of JUNK and making a litle extra cash! I'll let you know how it goes- I LOVE e-bay and always sell my "high-quality" items via them, but some of the other things I own just won't sell there. I think because most people who search on e-bay have an exact brand or item name in mind they want. it's hard to sell an old top without a brand name, at least in my experience. LOL I mean, what do you list a going-out-top under? LOL CLUBBING. I do. BAHAH!

Bye, ladies!

Requested Recipe + OWLS, LOFT + Gen's Pita Pizza!

Good afternoon!! I'm So happy tomorrow is Friday! Say it with me now: HOT DAMN!!

First of all, the recipe that a few of you requested for the Turkey Lasagna. I had one reader suggest eggplant instead of the wheat pasta for lower carbs. I think it'd be GREAT even if one wasn't watching carbs. Hey, I'm all for lower carbs, usually- but not right now seeing as how it fuels me for my runs. *yikes*. Without further ado:

Ingredients:
***TURKEY***
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion
1 can (14 1/2 oz. size) tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz. size) tomato paste
1 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
1 clove garlic, chopped
salt to taste ***CHEESE FILLING***
2 2/3 cups cottage cheese
4 ounces Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
***NOODLES AND TOPPING***
8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions:

TURKEY: Combine turkey and onion in skillet. Brown and drain. Add the tomato sauce, water, 2 Tbsp parsley flakes, 1 tsp oregano, the tomato paste, the sugar, the clove of garlic, and salt to taste. Simmer 2-3 minutes.

FILLING: Mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese (grated), 1 Tbsp parsley flakes, 1 tsp oregano, and basil together in a large bowl.

Spray a 9x13-inch pan with release agent (e.g. Pam).

Add layers of turkey, filling, and noodles as follows: Half the turkey mixture, a single layer of noodles (UNCOOKED), all the cheese filling, another layer of noodles, the remaining half of the turkey mixture, and cover the top with the Mozzarella.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour, COVERED TIGHTLY with foil. Uncover, then bake an additional 15 minutes. Let stand before cutting.

(This recipe from CDKitchen for Best Turkey Lasagna serves/makes 8)

For those of you who don't know: I love owls. I collect owls. Owls of ANY kind. On ANY thing. I found these super cute note cards from a seller on Etsy- persnicketypelican.etsy.com! They were exactly what I was looking for- and you can get them monogrammed! These aren't exactly what I bought, but similar.

I also did some shopping with Ann Taylor LOFT, who had some couldn't-pass-up deals. I ended up purchasing these two dresses:

Sorry for the crappy photos- That's all I could find to use. I'm really hoping the sheath fits right, as it looks SO chic and classy- and I'm wondering if I made the right choice by getting the second dress in plum instead of the black and white. Black and white combo is a NO LOSE situation, ya know? Go check it out and tell me what you think. When the order comes in we'll see how they fit. Do you like LOFT as much as I do? I, of course, don't heart them as much as Anthro, but for classic pieces...They ARE my go-to source.

I have my eye on a few other items from LOFT as well:

* Knit One-Shoulder Dress (out of stock in my size right now)

* Cotton metallic Skirt in Light Bronze (Not sure why I adore this so much...)
* Shimmering Jacquard Skirt in Pink (LOVE IT!!)

Tonight's dinner? Pita Caprese Pizza thanks to Gen :-)

Turkey lasagna success!

The turkey lasagna I made last night turned out so delicious- and it's good for you!! It'll be my lunch and dinner throughout the week- I love making in bulk when I can! it makes things SO much simpler. Of course I had to try out my new camera on the food!
(* Did I even mention I decided on an SLR? I went with the Nikon D5000 and am VERY happy with the quality and functions)

Creating the cheese filling with the whole wheat noodles chillin' on the side of the bowl.

Simmering the turkey, onions, sauce and spices...

Finished! Cutting it up into smaller portions for lunch and dinners.

Ta-Da!

I had today off from work for the 4th and I was so busy I didn't even get a chance to relax and do nothing. I love just doing nothing sometimes. I was productive- moving furniture from one bedroom to the other and deciding on decor for the guest room :-)

I've been eyeballing these Dolce & Gabbana 4015 sunglasses since seeing how hot they looked on Evangeline Lily in LOST. LOVE them on her- Hope they fit my face well because I just bought a pair today- my other sunglasses were in dire need of being replaced. Scratched, smudged...just F'd up. It was time people.

Did any of my fellow Anthroholics out there buy anything from Anthropologie's sale this morning? THANKING the heavens nothing I wanted was on sale this week ;-)

Have a happy Tuesday! Short week!
