A new start

I was daydreaming in class the other day about how I needed to re-vamp my workout and eating.  I was doing OK, but got sidetracked this week.  Read: sore throat/hacking and school work out the butt. Now that I know what to expect with school (and I aced our first test!!), I can concentrate on myself and well-being.  

Frustratingly enough, I've gained 5 pounds since being here--but I blame it on stress. My face felt the stress too, along with every other part of my body it seems like.  My skin has since cleared up and I feel better about everything for the most part.  I'm even having *gasp* some FUN.  Still have a broken heart, but thanks for QueenB, I'm reading "Make Every Man Want You" by Marie Forleo.  Don't let the title fool you--It has NOTHING to do with getting guys lined up to date you.  It's about finding and emitting that strong women within yourself.  It's exactly what I needed right now in my life.  I've just started, but I'll let you all know my final thoughts after.  It's a short, easy read.


I've decided to push my usual hour workouts up to 1.5-2 hours per day, 6-7 days a week.  I know I need a rest day, but most times I like working out 7 days a week...just get that "lazy" feeling when I don't.  My short-term goal is a wedding back home, June 20th.  This gives me 2.5 weeks to get into a good routine, and hopefully drop 2-3 pounds. 

You know what I should be doing?? Writing my speech manuscript.  :-)  But I swear, I just cannot concentrate.  All I want to do is watch mind numbing television.  Or shop. Payday is Thursday.  DANGER. :-)

If I don't write for the next few days, I hope you all have a great week!  I'll be sure to update every few days or so with my workout log.

Mich Ultra.....How ya been, friend?

Yes, I'm having a beer. Well, beer number 2 now.  Ahhh....We have a 4 day weekend (lucky us.  I guess they felt bad for us for all the work that gets dropped on us in 8 weeks.  Not likely....).  Have I yet mentioned I miss home...and my friend and family...and people who actually don't grind my nerves?  Well, there.  I mentioned it. :-)

I miss the South.  I just do.  No certain reason.  Except that it's hotter HERE than back home in southeast bama right now.  WEIRD.

I bought my ticket home for another long weekend we have in June.  My friend's wedding is the weekend of June 19th and lucky us, again, we have Friday off, which means more time home for this chick!

It's not bad here in Maryland at all...just miss the people who know me best.  No one like those people ya know?

This weekend is DC with old school friends :-) Cannot wait!!
Our class is having a BBQ by the lake here on base--I contemplated not going, and hitting the gym, but I've decided to go.  I think.  I'm pretty wishy washy nowadays.

I hit the gym 6 out of the last 10 days....apparently not enough to even lose half a freakin' pound.  I gained 2 since last week when I started--and my diet was GREAT!  GREAT I tell you.  Ah well.

I need a good shopping trip.  Payday was today and I immediately bought my plane ticket, paid bills....and bought 3 pairs of shoes. LOL!!

Someone needs to find a cure for a broken heart

It's a long story that I won't even tell, but things are changing so much in my life right now.  *sigh*  My heart is broken...

Good news:  I just got back from the gym and drank my protein shake.  Now I need motivation to go out and do something tonight.  I just don't want to.  I'd rather stay in and sulk.  Sue me.  Sometimes I need a good sulk.  Besides, if I go out I know I'll just drink my beer and after one too many, I'll get even more upset.  Some of you know what I mean :) LOL.

I'm off for now--just wanted to update a little.  I'm hoping to drop 10 pounds by June 20th--I'm flying home for a friend's wedding.  Sweet Home Alabama. :)

Give that lady some water!!

I made it to the gym on base this morning!  I really like Fort Meade--it's near Baltimore and where I will be the next two months.

The gym is great--lots of equipment, but I chose the entirely wrong room to do cardio in. I about DIED.  First of all I forgot my water which I cannot workout WITHOUT.  No way  Second--the cardio room is stuffy, and there are fans but none of them wee aimed at where I was. UGH! They do have a crap load of machines lined up around the basketball court area, so I think I'll stick to cardio there.

I feel better than I have in a week or so.  Thank you endorphins.  I miss home still, but luckily I brought photos and candles (Big Pissy you're right about that stuff making this place a home!) from home.  

Classes don't start until Thursday so us three interns have today and tomorrow to do whatever.  I think today will be mall time--even though we're all broke. LOL.  Gladly the army pays for our food everyday!!!

It's me!!

Hey ladies!

I'm finally settled in, as much as I can be 
here in Maryland, after spending a week in DC. I'll be he
re for the next two months and then in DC for 4 month
s.  I think if I can just get through these 2 months I'll be happier.

I found the gym on post today--it's BIG and nice.
  Some people would say they've been to better, but not me! My gyms back home were tiny.  I can't wait to get out of the slump and kick my ass in the gym
 :)

Here I am in South Carolina....

Guess it doesn't matter if I say where I am, as I am a nomad for the next 6 months. *sigh* I've been crying for the past three days.  That's just who I am folks. A 25-year-old woman, who, although loves to travel and visit different places, has come to realize she is a southern girl at heart.  I miss my family and friends already.  You don't realize how much you love the friends you grew up with until you live without them...Don't think the thought of turning my car around on the interstate didn't cross my mind today, because it did. Oh, it did.

I'm staying the night in a stupid ass hotel in South Carolina.  I picked it out, and it really isn't as bad as I make it seem, but it's lonely.  

Thank goodness for my new GPS system *thanks MOM!!* and it's abilities to find Subways. lol. Subways as in...the food.  

Tomorrow morning I leave for D.C.  Should I be scared? Because I am.  For one, the traffic. Yikes.  

I am looking forward to gym time at the hotel.  It's ben so long that I'm ashamed!!! :) I refuse to let the excuse of "too busy" come into play this week, even if I have to wake up at 5am.  I can tell I've gained a few.  I'm for sure coming back home for a wedding in June and would like to have dropped 10 pounds by then.

In other news: I miss you blogger ladies!!!!  What's new?? I need to go read your updates right now! Take care!
