Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings!

I spent this past weekend inside my apartment cooking up a storm. I was craving EVERYTHING it seems! Mainly homemade Chicken and Dumplings like my mom and grandma make, but honestly, didn't feel like going through all those steps to make it. If you've ever made or have seen a REAL Chicken and Dumplings recipe, you'll know it's a process.

Enter Pinterest and the internet. I decided to try the crockpot Chicken and Dumpling recipe I've seen floating around. I've been skeptical to try it, but this weekend my curiosity got the better of me.

It was DELICIOUS and fabulous and a really easy comfort food for the chilly weather. When I say chilly I mean 70 here in Charleston. lol

Looks the same as my grandma's homemade recipe! I was happy to see this....

In the bowl. The dumplings were just Grand's Flaky Biscuits from the can. Yep. Not as good as "real" dumplings, but not bad...not bad at all.

Little Brady curled up next to me on the couch. We were all so glad it was the weekend.

It's Monday and I'm already looking forward to the weekend. I'm hoping this week isn't too stressful and goes by FAST!

What did you all get into this weekend?

Popsugar's Must Have Box!

Happy Saturday! This weather is poopy today- wind, rain. Thanks SANDY! That's cool....because I was prepared and bought groceries and necessities last night in anticipation of this crap. :)

So, I was going to save this blog post for later, but I may as well go ahead and tell y'all about it.

After winning Popsugar's "I'm a Huge Fan" contest and meeting Miss Britney Spears, they continued to be SO kind and mailed me one of their "Must Have" monthly subscription boxes for FREE! It was a total surprise and I am SO glad they did- I LOVED IT!

Think of Birchbox, and their $10 monthly beauty goody box, but BIGGER and BETTER! It not only has beauty items, but home items, fitness, FOOD- it's a lifestyle box for ladies.

Here's the box I was sent for free back in September:

All that pink paper is to die for!

You won't get a framed photo of you and a celebrity (hee hee), but you will get a TON of other girly, fun things. In this box (if I remember correctly) there were snacks, a workout DVD, a portable, pink grocery bag, a reed diffuser, travel wine glasses, coupons, more snacks....AWESOMENESS basically.

The next month's box was even better! I wish I had bought that one now. It was AMAZING! It had an $80 scarf inside. Uhm yeah. That pays for the $35 price right there!

I JUST ordered a box for December today and I had to share. I won;t get the box until the end of the month, which is kinda weird, but just how it works.

I HIGHLY recommend trying it out and I'll do a video review once I get my next box.

Check out getting your own in December here.

Have any of you ALREADY tried this "lifestyle" subscription box? Let me know below!

Designer Sunglasses? Yes, please.

Hello ladies and guys! I'm still coming off the high of my entire Britney Spears adventure- I've been contacted by a few local news outlets from back home in Alabama and one here in Charleston. lol. My glorious 15 minutes of fame, I suppose.

Thanks for the comments on my 10-year-reunion recap! I had SUCH a wonderful time.

A little change-up for today.....I was offered a chance to take a look and review a designer sunglasses retail shop. Sometimes I get weird requests, but I liked this one- I love sunglasses and who wouldn't want a new pair? I want them myself!

The company is an online designer eyewear retailer, called SmartBuyGlasses. I perused their site and they have a TON of sunglasses from name-brand designers. I believe there are over 150 brands. At first I thought it was only SUNglasses they offered, but seems like they have contacts, sports glasses and regular eye glasses. Pretty cool- especially for someone like me who's blind as a bat!

A few of the ones that caught MY eye were these Designer Ray Ban Glasses. They all looks super chic and cute! If I hadn't just bought a new pair of eye glasses I'd be all over this!

They also offer Designer Persol and Gucci Glasses. Also super cute- hey offer different frames for every face shape and personal taste.

Personally, I loved these D&G sunglasses:
These are the DG 2096. They look almost like my D&G pair, but the metal frame is a bit different. I like these a LOT!! Mine are all scratched up because I can't take care of lenses to save my life, but ya know...who does? Does anyone actually take extra precaution with their sunglasses? Please say no so I don't look foolish. :)

Another aspect of their website I like is the 3D view of the glasses, giving you an option to view the glasses from all angles.

If you were to buy a pair of sunglasses/glasses from their site, which ones would it be?
Let me know in the comments section :)

29th birthday and 10-year High School Reunion!

Lots of big events for me this past weekend!

On October 11, I turned 29 years old. I am not in full-fledged "last-year-of-my-twenties" mode. It's hard to believe and I still feel 15...some days.

To top that off, my 10-year high school reunion was the same weekend, so I packed my bags and left Charleston, headed straight for Sweet Home Alabama. It was great being home. I wanted to STAY there! I graduated with a small class of about 120 people- IF that. My memory is going in my OLD age!

We had a pretty good turnout. There was about 25 of us throughout the entire weekend. More people would have came but a lot of them are deployed or too far away. We all grew up near an Army Aviation base so a lot of them are "military brats" and joined the service themselves. I think growing up near a military base really helps you branch out and meet new, different people growing up.

I know you don't know ANY of these people in the photos, but enjoy looking at the people I grew up with and know me better than anyone:

We started out at the high school Homecoming game- we saw a few teachers we missed and a couple other 2002 graduates that couldn't make it to the other functions. Afterwards we all hightailed it to a local bar where drinks were drunk and karaoke was sang. Yikes.

Headshot before the big cocktail event Saturday night. I was proud of my hair! I never curl it with a curling iron, but was pleased with my work :)

Before the game we had dinner. You may recognize Nathan here from my Britney Spears videos. He's my date for everything for LIFE I guess. lol

One of my best friends, Joy. Still talk and hangout with her today. She's in Alabama.

We have a good time. THAT is a promise. I was "volunteered" to karaoke "Oops I Did it Again"- is anyone surprised by this? No.

One of my very best friend from college (and high school) Jason, Joy, Nathan and me!

The group at the lake- gorgeous day!

Cocktail Event! I'm sad I didn't get a full-length shot of my dress. It's Kardashian Kollection from Sears! It was awesome!

Two of my favorites from school: Jason and Patrick.

NO we did NOT spike the punch................OK, we did.

The group at out cocktail event

Also, very dear to me and all of my classmates, was a memorial for three of our friends who have passed since we graduated. Two of them, Darrah and Daniel died in a car accident two weeks after September 11, 2001. It was tough. Daniel was my BEST friend and that day has changed me and my life forever. It brought everyone in my 2002 class closer together and now, thankfully, I don't mourn, I celebrate their lives.

Rest in peace Darrah, Eddie and Daniel.

For my birthday I wanted something low-key and with my family, which means my parents. This is how we roll....with Halloween masks, grilling steak and wine!! Look at my mom's GUNS! Thanks to her Beachbody program I picked out for her. You're welcome, mom!
Daddy-O!

Such a fab weekend. I was quite sad to come back to Charleston....."said no one ever." lol- I know, I know...but I miss home and my friends. We were a VERY close class. VERY. We all had our own little groups, but got along with everyone and I am SO thankful for that.

Has anyone had their 10, 20, 30 year class reunions yet??
How were they?

Meeting Britney Spears- No worries. Your nightmare is almost over.

Somehow I've gone down in comments since I've posted about my meeting with Britney. LOL. But I see all of the viewers of the post. Gheesh. haters. ;)

Here's the last and best episode from the Popsugar "I'm a Huge Fan" series. It has my actual interview with Britney. Thanks again for those of you who've been leaving sweet, supportive comments. Means the world to me. This was a huge deal for me personally and professionally. Enjoy- and enjoy the 3-day-weekend if you have it!
