Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings!

I spent this past weekend inside my apartment cooking up a storm. I was craving EVERYTHING it seems! Mainly homemade Chicken and Dumplings like my mom and grandma make, but honestly, didn't feel like going through all those steps to make it. If you've ever made or have seen a REAL Chicken and Dumplings recipe, you'll know it's a process.

Enter Pinterest and the internet. I decided to try the crockpot Chicken and Dumpling recipe I've seen floating around. I've been skeptical to try it, but this weekend my curiosity got the better of me.

It was DELICIOUS and fabulous and a really easy comfort food for the chilly weather. When I say chilly I mean 70 here in Charleston. lol

Looks the same as my grandma's homemade recipe! I was happy to see this....

In the bowl. The dumplings were just Grand's Flaky Biscuits from the can. Yep. Not as good as "real" dumplings, but not bad...not bad at all.

Little Brady curled up next to me on the couch. We were all so glad it was the weekend.

It's Monday and I'm already looking forward to the weekend. I'm hoping this week isn't too stressful and goes by FAST!

What did you all get into this weekend?

I absolutely adore American style chicken and dumplings so even though I've just eaten lunch I'd gladly have some of this right now, it looks incredible Jenny, you've done a wonderful job! It's cool to know that you're a dab hand in the kitchen, like your blog name says you're definitely not just a pretty face! :)

Looks delish! I know the fall season make me want to get my soup on too!

I spent the weekend curled up next to a little chihuahua too!

I'm not a huge fan of chicken and dumplings - they are always so slimy and gross feeling in your mouth (wow that came out wrong...)
