I woke up this morning withe the plan to take my measurements. Instead all I had time for was a weigh-in. I was very pleased with the 3 pounds I've shed this week alone! I love when busting my ass pays off.
I've gotten into the groove of Bob Harper's Strength DVD and love it even more than I originally did. It seriously kicks my butt and I can feel it in my arms, back and booty the next day. I planned on doing it three times this week, but have only managed once so far. It's tough- I'm telling ya.
My cardio this week has been high intensity intervals on the treadmill to really burn those calories and get my heart rate up- Guess it worked! High Intensity Interval Training is cardio performed at such an intense level that your body will spend the rest of the day expending energy to recover from the ass-kicking you gave it.
This means that you will be burning up to nine times more fat while sitting on the couch later that night than you would have if you'd spent an hour on the treadmill at a moderate pace. You have get out of that comfort zone you're used to for this to work.
For reference: 6.5 mph, for me, is my "fast" run. 5.0 mph is my jog and 4.0-4.4 mph is my fast walking. It'll be different for everyone and I really recommend high intensity intervals. I'm no expert, just a lover of the HIIT. You can read more about it here.

I love HIIT! I used to do the same thing for 30 minutes on the treadmill cause I HATE HATE to run and surprisingly 30 mins of HIIT isn't too bad. I'm currently doing the Turbo Fire HIIT videos. LOVE THEM!
I bought Bob Harper Super strength and I love it!!! Burned 640 calories and some moves I could not do. I am glad I follow your blog would have never bought it without reading your recommendations!
jenny-o...we should sign up to be on the biggest loser. even if we went home in week 2 we'd be skinny mini's by then with all the working out they do on the show. hope you have a lovely weekend. xoxo
