5 miles, I LAUGH in your face!

Today. My friends. Today, was the first day I have EVER ran (read: completed) 5 miles during one run! I know, I know. Not much to most people, but extremely AMAZING for me. I felt good during, only a few moments I felt too light-headed and I finished in 1:04. I was hoping for a 1 hour time- But honestly? I'm proud of myself and proud like hell of this time. I have 12 more weeks to train and I can only imagine what it'll feel like to complete 6, 7, 8 miles at one time. SO happy right now!!

Thanks for the input on color selection. I'm no closer to choosing a dang THING. I'm getting overwhelmed with this guest room. Usually I know EXACTLY what I want- what colors, scheme, etc., but I want too many things for this bedroom. I wanted an accent wallpapered wall (because wallpaper is SO in right now), then I thought about just a cool and modern wall decal- WAIT. Then I'd need to change the wall color. Shit. Perhaps a funkier, bold statement curtain would be better than the ruffled one for this room? ARRGHH!!!!!!!!!! haha! I think I'll just focus on getting my bedding first and go from there. *deep breath*

Have you re-decorated your home/room/apartment lately? If so, do you ever get overwhelmed with all your options and HOW do you cope?

I heard rumors there won't be an Anthropologie sale in the morning. BOO freakin' HISS to that! I have MONEY.

OK! I'm out! I'm going to re-fuel :-)

I can't help with the decorating question (that's my sister-in-law's department), but GREAT JOB on the run today! That's great! Remember you might need to slow down to get through the second five miles, but just completing them is going to be a huge victory!

5 miles? That's awesome!! Way to go! I would be super proud of myself too!

Super congrats on the run!!!!!!

(I do have a Q for you though - how would you recommend to a running newbie like me (who typically hate its) to get started? I usually hate doing it - so I don't - but hearing you gals talk running is getting me inspired!)

yay! that is such an awesome accomplishment! :) congrats! I always joke with my H that the only time I can run is if I'm being chased by something scary!

Congrats on doing 5 miles! That is incredible :) You have to be proud of yourself!

girl, that is AMAZING. rock on!!

You should be proud of yourself! I think the hardest part of decorating is "finding your style" and sticking to it even when faced with lots of options. Usually when the paint is on the wall and the bedding is purchased you're "invested" in a color scheme and you're more likely to feel content with your choice. I think you've made great choices with the rest of your home!

Oooh, congrats on the run! I used to be a runner, and I definitely miss it. Such great exercise, and it feels so darn good. :(

I definitely can't help with the decorating thing- we're supposed to be actively choosing things for our own home remodel, and I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when Husband told me last week that some of his workers (his employees at our business that were going to do the remodel on the side) wouldn't have free time until November. Thank goodness, because I am so embarrassingly indecisive it isn't even funny.

So many choices! So many things to do! So OVERWHELMING!

Yeah! 5 miles! That's great! I'll never forget the first time I ran 5 miles about a year ago. I set a goal to run a 10k although I don't know what I was thinking. While I trained I was suppose to run the 6 miles before the actual race and I didn't even make it past 4 miles! Somehow determination kicked in on race day and I not only did my 5 miles but managed to do the entire 6 mile race without stopping! That's when I knew, a half marathon needed to be in my future. I'm still wondering how I've survived all of it. Keep it up!
