I hug myself- I want you to hug me

I finally did it!

I went to bed early last night (missed Nip/Tuck. Anyone watch and can tell me what happened?) because I felt horrible. Stomach felt so upset, sinus pressure and head swimming....

I woke up at 4:15, on my OWN (no alarm clock this morning folks) and got to the gym at 5:00 a.m. I'm so proud of myself. I'm not just morning-stalking the gym anymore. haha!

I ate a couple spoonfuls of Oikos Greek Yogurt just to have SOMETHING in my stomach. It's a double-edged sword. I can't eat right after waking up, but I need something to eat before a workout or I feel sick. I was alright today. I managed to sqeak in 36 minutes of cardio on the elliptical.

45 minutes was the magic number, but about halfway through I started to get that "I'm gonna throw up" feeling in my throat. LOL! So I slowed it down. Now, I know I need to at least have a nibble of bread to get me going and sustain my cardio in the mornings.

I LOVE it already! There was 5 of us on the machines and about 15 women doing Body Pump- I felt great and not rushed. Plus these exercisers were too droopy-eyed and groggy to talk on their cell phones at 5 in the morning. Take that afternoon work-outers! ;-)

So tomorrow will be the same thing. I'm patting myself on the back right now. I'll be sure to let you know when the afternoon slump hits me this afternoon.

I leave you with a few photos of me and a friend at Versailles Palace/Gardens and The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France circa July 2008. That was a fabulous week and I want to go back- I was telling a co-worker (My valentine Sheryl!) about my trip yesterday and it made me miss it.

Look how happy I am to be frolicking around a big palace!

Marion (with her bug shades) and I. Anthro top alert!! WOOP WOOP! lol. I was so scared of losing my luggage because I had packed so many of my favorite Anthropologie tops and dresses. I'm rediculous.
One of the best moments of my life. people may say it's overrated, but this night it was raining and dreary, yet cool- and The tower never looked more beautiful lit up like that....

Try a banana or peanut butter on toast in the morning, both give a great boost without being too filling. It's my go to pre-workout eat.

Congrats on getting up and over to the gym! Your gym stalking cracks me up! :)

I L-O-V-E those pics! I am wanting to go to Paris sooooooooo bad! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I never know how people like you do it - get up THAT early and go work out. I'd love to do that because I'm the type of person who just wants to get it over with, but I think I would collapse in a heap of exhaustion if I ever got out of bed at such an ungodly hour! Props to you though.

Good for you for getting up and going to the gym this morning!!
When I was actually really religious about working out, my trainer suggested 1/2 a protein bar in the morning. I would eat it on the way to the gym and drink 1/2 a bottle of water. I felt so good while doing my workout...and super energized afterwards!

Way to go with the morning workouts! I love going to the gym SOO much more in the morning than in the afternoon. You're right, most people are still in a daze ;-) We've been going to bed at 8am and working out at 5am. I miss evening tv, but we watch it later in the morning after working out.

Your pictures are soo fun! You look uh-dorable :-D Hope you have a fantastic Friday Eve!

Great picture!!! I'd take a suitcase full of anthro any day - woo!

Great workout -hope you're feeling better. I HATE getting that i'm going to throw up feeling at the gym - scare bear!

woo hoo girl!! good job on the AM workout!!! stick with it, before you know it will be automatic!!

and i love your pictures, you looks SO happy in all of them!!

okay, you are inspiring me to get back into my morning work outs. I LOVED working out in the morning but have gotten lazy about getting up. I go at night but doing so allows me to talk myself out of it from time to time. (like tonight so I just did the shred). Hmmm i think i'm going to try the mornings again. thanks! :)
