Winner of an Anthropologie gift card! J. Crew Coat score and PARTAY!

Yo. What up.

Man- today started out crazy at work. I don't want to go into specifics, but it wasn't good. I deal with media queries and I've been getting them regarding what happened- so naturally...I'm a busy bee today. Not to mention I was out sick yesterday and the day before so catching up on e-mails and tiny stuff was out of the question until just now (afternoon).

In GOOD news, I WON something! I know, I know. Calm down.

I never win a thing- so I was BEYOND excited when I saw an e-mail alert that someone from Anthropologie said I had won a $50 Anthro gift card for completing one of those surveys that randomly pop up when you visit the site. Can you believe that junk? Awesome!

Yesterday while I was sick I was doing some online store surfing, of course. I found the best deal at J. Crew. It was 30% SALE and FREE Shipping if you spent $150 or more. The Double Cloth Collette Coat has been on my radar for months now- and I honestly didn't have the $298 bucks to shell out for a nice new coat, but I really loved it and knew it'd be worth every penny for years to come.

Needless to say the color I decided on (which they call a TAUPE, but looks pink to me) was on SALE, plus 30% off of that. I needed to add a few more items in my cart to reach the $150 mark for free shipping- essentially i got the other two items for cheaper than the price they were at. BOTH on sale as well, mind you! I did well.

Tacky Sweater Party commences in 3 days- I've already started decorating and planning drinks and food- are you going/gone to any Christmas/Holiday parties this season?

I Love You Lorelei

Funny Story: I didn't run my first 5K today after all. Why? Because the electricity must have flickered last night because I woke up 30 minutes before the race to my clock flashing. haha- Oops. The drive to the race was a few towns over so I couldn't get there in time- I called my Mom who was closer and made her run it. She won a freaking MEDAL in her category. Hilarious! Welp, guess I'll have to wait on that 5K.......

I'm seriously loving J. Crew's Lorelei dresses. LOVE it. When I first saw them online I thought those pleats in the front would NO doubt make me look huge and add bulk- but they actually are flattering! If you remember I have this dress in aqua blue, which I wore to the rehearsal dinner of my BFF:
I picked up the Lorelei in this blue print from the sale. It's SO adorable! This is definitely a work dress as well. You can't tell it's blue until I get in natural light. I was so excited to find the box on my doorstep that I flung my hair up and started trying everything on- I didn't buy anything with the intent on wearing them together....but I'm thinking I just might!

Can't you just see how pleased I am with my selections?

Love the blue and lavender!

(Please excuse my in-much-need-of-a-pedicure feet)

Running update + Clothing reviews

Yesterday I jogged 1.5 miles. LOL- What. A. Joke. I mostly think it's because I'm just not fueling myself correctly beforehand. It's hard for me to eat when I'm NOT hungry. Grrr. Saturday is my first 5K. Everyone pray that I don't pass out. Mmkay. Thanks.

Here's a quick review of a few things I purchased online lately...

First up: J. Crew's Bow Monde Dress in black.

I've had this thing wishlisted for months now and finally bought it. I needed a formal black dress and that big huge bow thing on the front actually called my name...Too bad it was too tight in the stomach area. *sigh*. That's my body for ya. I knew it'd be a challenge with this dress because of the way the skirt fits. It's pretty straight- and straight skirted dresses don't look good on me. I've been consistently losing weight- that's a plus. And I know I'll lose more. This dress, other than the fact it's too tight- and it's a size freaking *16*- (Nothing wrong with that, but my normal dress size is a 12/14, ladies. Uhm....) meaning I can't go up a size- it's gorgeous. I love the fabric and the chic-ness of it. With pearls? Yup. To die for in my opinion. J. Crew has a 60 day return policy. I think I'm gonna hang it in my closet and use it for motivation. If in 55 days I still look shitty in it, back it goes.... ;-)

E-bay Find: Anthropologie Reed Shirtdress in green.

I just gotta say....these next pictures make me snicker and shake my head. Love the wrinkles, right? BAHA!!

LOVE the green with my coloring. LOVE the fit at the bottom. Do NOT love the fact that my boobs are popping some buttons left and right..."Loosen up mah buttons babe, UH HUH..." It pissed me off this did. The sleeves are tight as CRAP. The buttons won't button. I'm sad. See my face. lol. I'm keeping it around like the first dress, however. In time, we'll use this as a guide to see how much my upper body shrinks....Because this dress would be supah cute with some nude slingbacks and a statement necklace.
(P.S. Not wearing a bra. BAH! Oops)
(nice bra hanging out in the background, Jenny.)
Anyone ever hang on to an item of clothing they just really love in hopes that it'll fit better once you lose weight/tone?

I'm so thankful today is Friday- I have no plans this weekend and that's a relief because frankly, I'm tired. :-) Hope you all have a nice weekend.

I'll be back Saturday to let you know how the race went and more reviews- I have a second shipment from J. Crew on the way from the big Sale!

Happy Friday!

Fashion Post: Another peek at my wishlist

My goofy ass treadmill belt has gone caddywonkus on me- it's been slipping over to one side more than the other, so when I run, it sometimes "catches" and it feels like I might eat treadmill. I need to adjust the bolts in the back......

So, in the meantime I'm using this post to show you more clothes/beauty items that I probably don't need, but still love and would like to have:

Dior Capture Totale- This moisturizer was sent to me in a tiny packet from Sephora. It's $125 dollars, but I absolutely LOVED this junk! It's in my Sephora basket for when I get some extra dolla dolla bills- my cart is loaded, so it needs to be soon. Although, that cream LaMer that all the celebs rave about is close to this price, too.....Which one do I get?? Anyone tried that LaMer stuff? It better feel as good as this. I haven't dropped money at Sephora in awhile...That's my excuse.

Calvin Klein's Satin Dress via Nordstrom- I love the color. Love the straps and neckline. It's just wishlisted because I can't decide how MUCH I like it. Ya got me? Bebe Ruffle Halter top- I love this color and I love me some ruffles.

J. Crew's Crystal devoté necklace- NEED this. It's on sale. Maybe I shouldn't tell you all that.....
Etsy The bachelor Wedding Necklace- This was the necklace 'ole girl gave to her bridesmaids to wear on her wedding day to Bachelor Jason. I love it, but I'm not paying $80 bucks for it. Maybe. One day.
Phoebe Rosette & Tuxedo Trim Silk Taffeta Dress- For $348 bucks this girl needs to stand up straight so I can see exactly how this dress lays. I mean, really girl?? Hunched shoulders will not make me want this dress more. Anyway- I love the two-tone blue, but wouldn't pay this price. So it's gonna sit in my wishlist forever. Or until a sale. And even then I'll have to really think hard about it.
Sultra The Siren Styling Dryer- Via Sephora- I think it's high time I invest in a damn good hair dryer- especially seeing as how I have to hold my diffuser onto the main dryer with packing tape. BAHAH!! It's true. My hair is thick and slightly wavy, so a good hair dryer would really benefit me I think. Read more about it here. Can't forget the diffuser either!

Eek! My MAC and Sephora cart are overflowing. I have issues.

Actual Recent Purchase: If you love yellow or bright colors in general get this necklace. It's SUCH a statement piece and gorgeous.

Anthropologie Solstice Necklace- $48
I'm currently trying to decide what to wear to the bride's rehearsal dinner next week...I'm not sure (even though I'm the MOH) what the dress attire is, but I'm sure it's dressy, but not cocktail-ish. Still I wanna look damn good and put-together, so I keep looking at all of J. Crew's Taffeta dresses and that Calvin Klein silk dress above-- too much?? Whattya think? Gimmie some ideas. Send me a link to what YOU would wear if you were going to a dressy/casual-ish rehearsal dinner TONIGHT!!

Would you like to see my rash or wedding pictures?

BAHHHH, omg. Let me first say, I'm sorry if I gross anyone out, because this "rash" I had from last Friday until the present, is quite disturbing even to me. Here it is on my arm....

My other arm and chest looked exactly like this....Luckily the Doc gave me some cream to make it go away and I'm happy to report it looks 1,000 times better. Ugh. It was so ugly and itchy I cried a couple times yesterday. Talk about depressing, man!

In prettier news- my friend Ashley's wedding in Florida was a blast, as I knew it would be. There ceremony was short and sweet (a little too short for my taste, but whatev. haha) and reception was typical of a night with me and my friends. So much fun and dancing- and open bar ;-) I stuck to the light liquors all night. Red Bull and Vokda my friends...

Outfit: Not the best photo, but one of the only ones that was taken of me and I was soooo not ready :-) This isn't the dress I wanted to wear, but in the end I'm glad the other didn't quite fit yet- this dress was more appropriate for the setting.

The dress is from Anthropologie and it runs slightly big. I even sized down. I'm thinking of having the sides taken in a bit after I drop a few more lbs. Cardigan is from J. Crew and the yellow flower sandals, Victoria's Secret. The weather was sunny but still cool at night- loved it!!

My good friend Marion and I cracking up.

The NEW Mr. and Mrs.!
Back to the real world tomorrow- I think I'd much rather live in wedding fantasy land forever, thanks :-)

I got yo crazy, I got yo crazy....

Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer!!!

Britney, girl, your song dances through my head this morning like raindrops on a light, fluffy cloud. I've had Gaga's newest, "Telephone" stuck in my head like you wouldn't BELIEVE. During work, at home, during meetings.... Granted I have been listening to it about 15 times on the way to work and back home lately ;-) What can I say? I love The Ga.

Luckily Anthro's sale didn't contain much of anything I've been eyeballing except The Fairy Cake Dress by Floreat:

This dress isn't everyone's style, but I am a sucker for vintage girly dresses and sweetheart-ish necklines. It's half price, now down to $80. I pray that it's there in my size come Friday- which, by the way, is when IRS. gov predicts my tax refund will be in my account. Can I get an Amen??! :-)

Friends....The J. Crew Mow Monde Dress is now on SALE as well! I'm still torn between two colors...HELP- Thoughts? Suggestions? I know y'all have an opinion and I need help deciding you fashionistas, you! Is everyone still thinking the Mint Green? Or the beautiful Tropical Blue?

This J. Crew Lorelie Dress is on sale for $78. I think I'll be purchasing. I love grey- it's so chic.

Next up- Summer Sandals still on my wish-list:

Although you can't tell-these have the cutest ruffle looking design on the heel. $60 from Endless.com

LOVE these straps- which really spice up a typical, boring flat sandal. $70 from endless.com
(Yes, aware this is not a sandal. hee hee) I love chunky, wedge-like heels. They have such character! The price is the SALE price. Faryl Robin's shoes are always so damn expensive. Geez $126 from endless.com

It's a rainy, dreary day here in lower Alabama- makes me want to nap. I'm hungry. That is all.

:-) Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Twenty-Ten will be a good one

Happy New Year to all the lovely bloggers in blogging land! My NYE wasn't eventful whatsoever- I planted my ass on my couch, sipped on Bellini's and watching New Years Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. I must say, I adore him- He's damn good at what he does. So I enjoyed it- and I enjoyed the music and yadda yadda. So that was that- I woke up today with no hangover, surprisingly, as I had drank the entire boittle of champagne BY myself. lol. Oops. next NYE- Hopefully skiing in the Colorado hills.

Today I spent the day shopping for cute house thing with my mom- and came home with some really cute things, including:

My favorite ever :-)

The two metal scroll decor on either side

Cute orb table decor
Two new bar stools for the counter
Candlestick set- no candles and no place to put these...yet
I also spent the majority of the day perusing clothes online- and found some VERY darling items I cannot live (or so I think) without:

I'm loving this light grey color- but am slightly torn. Do I get this one or the camel colored khaki color? Off hand I can probably put together more outfits with this color. What do you guys think? I see this with a cute top, cardigan, cute belt, tights and those Aldo wedges I just bought. And could go right into springtime as well...

I hope you all had a great time ringing in the new year- and I hope and pray for a joy-filled year for all of you :-)
