Oh, no she didn't- Oh YES, I did.

I put up my inside Christmas decorations. Yes. That means my fake, white tree as well.

Most of my decorations are from previous years save a few new pieces. I bought some stocking hangers you would usually place on a mantle and I placed them where the barstool counter was, but...it didn't look right, so I just hung the stocking on the staircase banister. Blah.

Usually I wait- but I was sick of waiting and my upcoming busy-ish weekend schedule won't allow me the time put anything up a few weeks AFTER Thanksgiving. This is not cool by me. So, to hopefully put you in the holiday mood, here are a few photos of holiday cheer courtesy of Jenny.

Fake trees are easy- I just light a Christmas Tree scented candle for the full effect.
LOVE all my Owl ornaments- they are seriously my favorite decoration. ALL YEAR ROUND.
Ornament- West Elm
Yeah. Love this team, too.
Is this not precious- the frog holding the engagment ring behind his back?
Have I mentioned how much I love my DSLR- and how it makes me feel like a pro sometimes? ;-)
Cute little Owl with glitter!
 Chihuahua ornament? Duh.
Snow white owl ornament- West Elm

When do you decorate for the holidays, if you do?
Where do you get your decor?

Requested Recipe + OWLS, LOFT + Gen's Pita Pizza!

Good afternoon!! I'm So happy tomorrow is Friday! Say it with me now: HOT DAMN!!

First of all, the recipe that a few of you requested for the Turkey Lasagna. I had one reader suggest eggplant instead of the wheat pasta for lower carbs. I think it'd be GREAT even if one wasn't watching carbs. Hey, I'm all for lower carbs, usually- but not right now seeing as how it fuels me for my runs. *yikes*. Without further ado:

Ingredients:
***TURKEY***
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion
1 can (14 1/2 oz. size) tomato sauce
1 can (6 oz. size) tomato paste
1 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
1 clove garlic, chopped
salt to taste ***CHEESE FILLING***
2 2/3 cups cottage cheese
4 ounces Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
***NOODLES AND TOPPING***
8 ounces uncooked lasagna noodles
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions:

TURKEY: Combine turkey and onion in skillet. Brown and drain. Add the tomato sauce, water, 2 Tbsp parsley flakes, 1 tsp oregano, the tomato paste, the sugar, the clove of garlic, and salt to taste. Simmer 2-3 minutes.

FILLING: Mix cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese (grated), 1 Tbsp parsley flakes, 1 tsp oregano, and basil together in a large bowl.

Spray a 9x13-inch pan with release agent (e.g. Pam).

Add layers of turkey, filling, and noodles as follows: Half the turkey mixture, a single layer of noodles (UNCOOKED), all the cheese filling, another layer of noodles, the remaining half of the turkey mixture, and cover the top with the Mozzarella.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour, COVERED TIGHTLY with foil. Uncover, then bake an additional 15 minutes. Let stand before cutting.

(This recipe from CDKitchen for Best Turkey Lasagna serves/makes 8)

For those of you who don't know: I love owls. I collect owls. Owls of ANY kind. On ANY thing. I found these super cute note cards from a seller on Etsy- persnicketypelican.etsy.com! They were exactly what I was looking for- and you can get them monogrammed! These aren't exactly what I bought, but similar.

I also did some shopping with Ann Taylor LOFT, who had some couldn't-pass-up deals. I ended up purchasing these two dresses:

Sorry for the crappy photos- That's all I could find to use. I'm really hoping the sheath fits right, as it looks SO chic and classy- and I'm wondering if I made the right choice by getting the second dress in plum instead of the black and white. Black and white combo is a NO LOSE situation, ya know? Go check it out and tell me what you think. When the order comes in we'll see how they fit. Do you like LOFT as much as I do? I, of course, don't heart them as much as Anthro, but for classic pieces...They ARE my go-to source.

I have my eye on a few other items from LOFT as well:

* Knit One-Shoulder Dress (out of stock in my size right now)

* Cotton metallic Skirt in Light Bronze (Not sure why I adore this so much...)
* Shimmering Jacquard Skirt in Pink (LOVE IT!!)

Tonight's dinner? Pita Caprese Pizza thanks to Gen :-)
