You can never eat too many vegetables. Seriously.

Who else is enjoying the Olympics? I just love them, yet somehow I haven't watched since 2000, which is very strange to me. At that time I was only all about gymnastics- yes, I was one of those kids who started gymnastics after watching the Mag 7 win gold. I was highly disappointed when I didn't really know anyone on the 2000 Women's Team. I stopped watching.

Looking forward to the men's and women's team finals this week! Hoping for GOLD for both!

I'm a bit under the weather with a sinus infection- Good grief these are debilitating to me. I hate the way I feel, the way my head feels like its floating...plus I have to miss my workouts. I hate getting derailed- I was on such a good roll. Although now that my sickness is rearing its ugly head, I can understand why my past two Insanity workouts have been LESS than stellar. I struggled with Insanity Max Cardio and Max Plyo. Hopefully this will pass by Wednesday so I don't get too off track.

I'll leave you with a photo from my dinner last night of stiry-fried veggies and tempeh. This was my first attempt at tempeh and although I like it way better than tofu, it still wasn't a favorite. I doubt, after I finished this package, will I eat it again. This was even after I marinated it for an hour- I just found it to be bland and blah- although it is a FANTASTIC source of protein and fiber. Those veggies hit THE spit last night....

Food heavy photos. DELICIOUS!

This past weekend was spent showing my friend from my DC days (Courtney is her name) around Charleston. It was great having a good friend visit me! We spent the majority of her visit eating, but who cares. Somehow I managed to lose another pound eating shrimp and grits, drinking Blue Moon and NOT working out. Word.

Saturday night dinner at SNOB (Slightly North of Broad). I had the Seared Tuna and it was O.M.G. Amazing melt--in-your-mouth delicious! it was topped with fried oysters. Crap. Highly recommend this place. Service was great also! Will be back here.

THE Tuna Steak

Peanut Butter Pie for two. Mmmm. Oh and a Bourbon drink that was OUT of this world good!

Walking along the streets of Chucktown- came across The Charleston Place Hotel. Looked beautiful! I'd stay here...wonder how much a night costs? ha!
Courtney reunited with her "son"- my baby boy- Brady.
Walking the streets....like ya do. Love this girl!
Chowing down at Poe's before hitting up Sullivan's Island beach.
Bunless burger from Poe's. Just as good, if not better- all that bun they give you can be a little much.
A weird flock of dudes at the beach. Weird. I see a lot of weird stuff at the beaches here. See previous post about weird sand castle dude.
Do I need to explain this photo any further? No.
Brunch at Toast, downtown. LOVED this place! Food, coffee, service was all top notch and NOT expensive.

That was my weekend! Post is a bit late, seeing that there's only one more day left in this work week, but better late than never.

What's your favorite brunch item? If you're a brunch type of person....I for one LOVE brunch food!

Hey.....is this thing on?

Wooooo, I've been a little MIA from the blog. I love this blog, writing, meeting bloggers- but I REALLY want a design change. So, if anyone would like to offer their services to me, that'd be GREAT! At a discount. Thanks.

Something smells in this office............just do you all are aware.

OK, so after Month 1 of Insanity (round 2!) I'm down 5 pounds, inches all over and pleased. Things were slow going for awhile, but damn if I didn't BUST my ass. I ate healthy, drank my Shakeology (nothing new, really), rarely drank alcohol (my wine weakness!!!) and worked out most everyday. I think I mentioned this, but I'm definitely OVER Month 1 Insanity workouts. I'm just bored with them. They're still hard as ever, but I've done them so much now that it's time for a change-up. After the second month I'll be moving on to Les Mills Pump. It's exactly what you think it is.....like the Bodypump class at your local gym (cool music, lots of reps, lighter weights) but in the courtesy of your own home, which I enjoy for the sake of time saving.

Last night my best guy friend from High School and his wife were in town so we (with my friend Lindsey who lives in Charleston, too) all went out for drinks. We started out at Social and headed to Vendue rooftop bar. It was a GREAT time, but I got home entirely too late- now I know exactly why I don't go to happy hours the majority of the time. LOL I just can't  hang like I used to. LAME.

OMG at our baby faces!!
I didn't snap ANY photos of me and Patrick (friend from high school) because, again, I'm lame, but here's a throw-back from the good old days.

If you're a Chi Omega or Chi O Alumnae, I'm sure you've seen the Lilly Pulitzer line for Chi Omega. ADORE IT! This tumbler is to-die for and I need it. That owl print is HELLO-gorgeous and adorable. All my owl lovers out there will enjoy this as well :)

Have a great Tuesday- cheers!!

Protein Shake and Avocado for dinner

I need groceries, but haven't felt motivated one bit to drag my ass to the store. I'll do it this weekend. Dinner tonight will be a broiled AVoado with Melted Cheese and Hot Sauce (low carb, anyway.) and a Cookies n Cream protein shake.

This week has been hell already. (I'm about to talk about monthly womanly matters, so to the few dudes who read my blog, you may wanna skip along to the bottom...) TMI, most likely, but I can count on ONE hand the number of times I've actually had cramps due to my monthly "friend"- yeah. It's a blessing/perk, but not so fast!! I do, however, get the WORST cravings, restlessness, mood swings and lower back aches the week before. Weird. This week has been BLAH and all I've wanted was a damn BIG, huge honking Reese's Cup. Like, overgrown, genetically engineered Reese's. I did not give it.

Actually, I'm down 2 inches and 4 pounds since I started busting my booty two weeks ago- I love being back in a routine workout schedule, but this weak the fatigue has just caught up with me. *sigh* Also, do you understand how HARD it is to say NO to wine and booze and the like? Very hard. I love my wine. But I love the way my clothes fit when I'm fitter even more, so, there you have it....What I'm trying to say is that I've pretty much been a hermit for the past couple weeks...

I went to the movies last Friday and other than that I've worked out and proceeded to sit my ass on the couch watching the new movie channels. My "household/apartment" got DirecTV, so we have an abundance of movie channels...you haven't got a chance of peeling me off the couch once I get into watching a flick. Nope.

I feel like I owe you all a crap load of pictures from the kick-ass city I now live in, but I don't have any. That's cool...I have at least a year to do all the MUST do stuff. I need to stop worrying so much about trying to fit everything in all within a month (Which is now about how long I've been living in Charleston).

My wonderful friend from my D.C. days, Courtney, is coming for a visit in two weekends! I can't wait to drag her crazy ass to all the awesome places I haven't tried because I'm pretty much always by myself! THEN my BFF, Marion, will be here in September.

I sure do miss my crazy, funny, goofy friends :( I wish I could pluck up all my friends and family and move them here.

This post in random...and I'm out. Cheers! Hope everyone's week is going smoooooth!

Summery Beach Must-haves!

Living a 15-20 minute drive from two beaches has its perks- and I'm taking full advantage! Oddly enough, I wasn't much of a beach person until this past year- not sure why....body issues probably. I never liked that I couldn't prance around in a bikini. Yes. Prance. Not that I do now, but I damn sure don't hide in a t-shirt and shorts anymore. I need to give myself more credit.

Here are my Beach must-haves!!

1. A cute beach chair with pink somewhere in it.
Must have pink chair! It used to be just a blanket for me, but a chair is now a must! It's easier to sit up in, lay back in and not so close to the sand. Not that I mind lying on the sand- I like that, too, but chairs are just cool. I picked this one up at Publix for cheap!

2. Floppy beach hat. With lace.
Scored this from e-bay! I don't wear it too often because I like the sun on my face, but if I'm walking around at a beach ALL day, this is a must have. Keeps you cool and I love the lace detail!

3. Bright beach towel.
Lay it on the sand to sprawl out on or drape it over the chair. Either way, make sure it's bright! :) Home Goods has AHHHmazzzinnggg beach towels! Look all the colors! Mine isn't pictured here, but it's orange, pink, white sunbursts.

4. A beachbag with style.
I have a thing for skulls. Chi Omega thing, mainly. I loved this nautical striped bag with the skull n crossbones. Perfect! All my other beach stuff is girly, so I needed a bad-assery piece.

5. A cooler big enough to hold all of your ice, cold alcoho....water!
Not sure how I, an online shopaholic, hadn't heard about Scout brand of coolers, tote bags and coolers. I wanted to buy one of EVERy bag in VEVERY print but settled on the hard-bottomed bigger cooler in the paisley print. But, trust when I say, I'll be buy others in different sizes. LOVE these bags! Great quality, keeps things cold and doesn't leak- that I've seen yet!

6. Sunscreen spf 15.
Naturally. Don't go out in the sun without it peeps. I like 15, but everyone's skin is different. Don't forget to reapply! Duh.

This past weekend I made it to Folly beach early Saturday morning. It's awesome going around 10:00 and staying until the lunch crowd comes out....I hate dealing with the traffic going to the beach on James Island. Ick! The beach isn't very crowdd and I like the spot I've become accustomed to....it has a good amount of people to gawk at, but not too many to feel claustrophobic.

Saturday, there was a dude on the beach building what looked to be either an Alien signal or a cool sandcastle...I was intrigued....and was even ready to pack up and head home, but HAD to wait until Mr. Alien Summoner got back from his ocean swim break, to see exactly what the hell he was building he was working so hard on....

On his hands and knees? That's dedication!

Shovel in hand. Looking determined to finish his masterpiece...

THE masterpiece....uh....yeaahhhh....

I expected better....
