Remember that joke that begins: Is your refrigertaor running....?

Yeah. Not funny.

My fridge is on the fritz. Right before Memorial Day and my precious chicken/veggie kabobs and 4 cheese macaroni & cheese are on the line, here folks.

Thank GOD I got a home builders 1-year warranty when I bought my house, because not ONLY is my fridge acting all crazy... My AIR conditioner went out Tuesday. WTF. Broken air in Lower Alabama= Hell on earth. Got that fixed yeterday. Wait, wait- let's top all of this off with the fact that I got a speeding ticket Tuesday. BAHA. Yeahhh....good times.

In happier news...I won this blog award :-) And I think this gives you guys a glipmse of who I am on a more personal level so I'm doing it....Thank you, CarolinaBelle!

The Rules:
1. Copy and Paste the above image onto your blog.
2. Answer the questions below.
3. Pass onto bloggers that you love and let them know they've been given this award.

1. Who is your style icon (s)?
OMG, like, Hellooo?? None other than.........

Miss Britney Spears!!!

Yeah, sike. Just playin'. Although I will say I never judged Britney for looking as trashy as she did/does/will. Let's be honest. Well, alright, I'll be honest- I don't look glam and cute all day everyday, so why should she? Let's not argue over the fact that "She's a celeb. It's her 'duty' to look presentable as an often-photographed celeb." Uhm. no.

But who IS my celeb style icon? I honestly don't know that I have one. I don't like the "celebrity" wear- When I think of celebrity fashion I think of a black over sized vest over top a white wife beater with leggings and some gladiator shoes. Oh and let's throw in some hugh-gass sunglasses and purse. I'm sorry- that's not MY style. I'm not a real "trendy" girl. I like classics. (i.e.- A cute, flirty and girly dress. Jeans and a NICE, put-together top. Throw on some accessories and I'm done. And look good.)

Crikey! I can't even answer the first question without rambling....Ok, shit. No, in all honesty, it's this woman. How did I ever have a doubt

Just kidding again. Sorry Lady Ga.

I really love Carrie Underwood's style. Maybe because it's wearable in the real world? I just love how gorgeous and glitzy she always seems to look. I love me some glam and glitz, mmkay? But when you look like her- in all her gorgeousness- how can anything look bad on you? :-)

2. What is your favorite Socialite lit book?
uhm. I'm not really a socialite lit reader- OK, I do adore Emily Giffin's books and Sophia Kinsella's, but I'd much rather delve into some Jeffrey Deaver or musician autobiography.

3. Favorite party theme?
Anything PINK PINK PINK and MORE PINK! Glam! And can I just say the Hawaiian/tropical theme is played the hell out. Can we just lock that one in a vault for about 10 years?

4. Go to Halloween costume?
Not quite sure I'm following you.....Go to Halloween costume? As in....should I always have one at arm's length? BAHAH!! Well in that case, allow me to just refer you back to question number #1. Got some cutoff frayed shorts, black tights, a tight pink midriff top and some lipstick to smear on your face? Voila!! BRITNEY.

(Honestly. I don't have a go to Halloween costume. I just buy what's cute and what I feel like being that year...at the last minute.)

5. Extravagance you cannot live without?
My shopping. Especially at Anthro. I've tried to stop and I. Just. CAN'T!

6. Living person you admire?
Yes, I admire my parents. Everyone child SHOULD. They do so much for us hoodlums.

7. Greatest fear?
Spiders. Besides that? The dark. Besides THAT? My mom or dad dying too soon.

8. Trait you deplore in yourself?
Oh good God. I am the FIRST to admit my flaws. Where should I start?? Nah- I don't think I'll throw myself under the bus today. I'll just pick ONE ;-) How about my anxiety? I get the worst freakin' anxiety. I am constantly over-thinking (which is another trait I deplore, but kinda goes hand-in-hand with my anxiousness) Everything..."What did he MEAN when he said that?" "Why is she coming over that day and not this day??" "Will they be happy with this drink or should I make this." and so on and so forth. It drives me crazy and I wouldn't be surprised if I'm making myself sick internally when I do this.

I'm a strong woman who puts up with nobody's shit, but when it comes right down to it, I'm also somewhat of a people pleaser....Well, hell.

9. Which talent would yo most like to have?
Singing. I would LOVE to be able to sing like Christina or Mariah, that little skank. *sigh*

10. Greatest Achievement?
Graduating college and finding a most awesome career with my public affairs degree.

Is it initially how I've always wanted to do PR? No (music is my love). The job path I took, however, is a secure one and I love working with our nation's Army. It's a very rewarding job most days.

I think my answers are crazo, but I'm half asleep in my chair.
I tag everyone who's name begins with the letter "K"!

PSA for all of my followers

So....something I wish I had known about a loooong time ago, thanks to gorgeous Brittany- that I am now passing along to all of YOU to make all of our lives here on blogger a simpler one :-)

If you're like me- I get e-mail notifications when someone replies to a blog entry of mine. Usually, I'll read the e-mail, delete it and then come back to my blog later and reply to everyone in the comment section myself...

I couldn't figure out an easier way- but then realized...what if they never come back to read the comment I left for them!?! SAD DAY!! I love hearing from you guys and want to answer you ASAP. Here's how you can fix that!

For the longest time I didn't add my e-mail address to my profile- just because I didn't want anyone to have it. Uh. Why? I dunno. I guess I thought it'd be "safer" that way. But it's just e-mail. If I notice something not from blogger, I'll delete. Bye-bye-bye spam/possible virus.

Anyway- if you all will follow these steps below, and add your e-mail address, the blogger you leave a comment for can respond back directly to YOU and it'll come to your e-mail.

Something so small makes me so happy...

Go to your dashboard.
Click on Edit Profile (next to your picture).
Add an email address.
Click the check mark to make it visible.
THAT'S IT! COMMENT AWAY!!

Fashion Post: Another peek at my wishlist

My goofy ass treadmill belt has gone caddywonkus on me- it's been slipping over to one side more than the other, so when I run, it sometimes "catches" and it feels like I might eat treadmill. I need to adjust the bolts in the back......

So, in the meantime I'm using this post to show you more clothes/beauty items that I probably don't need, but still love and would like to have:

Dior Capture Totale- This moisturizer was sent to me in a tiny packet from Sephora. It's $125 dollars, but I absolutely LOVED this junk! It's in my Sephora basket for when I get some extra dolla dolla bills- my cart is loaded, so it needs to be soon. Although, that cream LaMer that all the celebs rave about is close to this price, too.....Which one do I get?? Anyone tried that LaMer stuff? It better feel as good as this. I haven't dropped money at Sephora in awhile...That's my excuse.

Calvin Klein's Satin Dress via Nordstrom- I love the color. Love the straps and neckline. It's just wishlisted because I can't decide how MUCH I like it. Ya got me? Bebe Ruffle Halter top- I love this color and I love me some ruffles.

J. Crew's Crystal devoté necklace- NEED this. It's on sale. Maybe I shouldn't tell you all that.....
Etsy The bachelor Wedding Necklace- This was the necklace 'ole girl gave to her bridesmaids to wear on her wedding day to Bachelor Jason. I love it, but I'm not paying $80 bucks for it. Maybe. One day.
Phoebe Rosette & Tuxedo Trim Silk Taffeta Dress- For $348 bucks this girl needs to stand up straight so I can see exactly how this dress lays. I mean, really girl?? Hunched shoulders will not make me want this dress more. Anyway- I love the two-tone blue, but wouldn't pay this price. So it's gonna sit in my wishlist forever. Or until a sale. And even then I'll have to really think hard about it.
Sultra The Siren Styling Dryer- Via Sephora- I think it's high time I invest in a damn good hair dryer- especially seeing as how I have to hold my diffuser onto the main dryer with packing tape. BAHAH!! It's true. My hair is thick and slightly wavy, so a good hair dryer would really benefit me I think. Read more about it here. Can't forget the diffuser either!

Eek! My MAC and Sephora cart are overflowing. I have issues.

Actual Recent Purchase: If you love yellow or bright colors in general get this necklace. It's SUCH a statement piece and gorgeous.

Anthropologie Solstice Necklace- $48
I'm currently trying to decide what to wear to the bride's rehearsal dinner next week...I'm not sure (even though I'm the MOH) what the dress attire is, but I'm sure it's dressy, but not cocktail-ish. Still I wanna look damn good and put-together, so I keep looking at all of J. Crew's Taffeta dresses and that Calvin Klein silk dress above-- too much?? Whattya think? Gimmie some ideas. Send me a link to what YOU would wear if you were going to a dressy/casual-ish rehearsal dinner TONIGHT!!

Goodbye, LOST. You confused me, but I loved you.

For all you LOST fans out there- tonight's the night. You may wanna get ready for Monday before 6 p.m. CST, because it's gonna be a looooong night, what with the long finale and Jimmy Kimmel's LOST show tonight. Do you think I'm gonna miss the alternate endings? negative.

LOST wasn't and isn't my all-time favorite show on TV (Hello! Dawson's Creek?! HAHA- I'm not kidding, really.) but throughout the seasons it's kept me intrigued and guessing and this is why I love it. Unpredictability. Sawyer has to be my favorite character. I love his sarcasm and smart-ass one-liners. How can you not love his most-used, "Son of a bitch!".....

Let's Talk Clothes- I was trying on dresses the other day, trying to decide on one for my friend's rehearsal dinner- I was reminded how much I freaking HATE side zippers on dresses. I have big boobs and broad shoulders. I'm sturdy, put it that way. My bones could probably never be broken- which is a great thing, but not so great when you're trying to fit your ribcage into a dress. LOL

Even at my smallest, side zippers were my enemy. Obviously you can't trim down your rib bones in order to shrink your upper body. ARGH!!
What are your clothing pet peeves? What types of closures on clothing just don't work for your body type?

I'm curious to know what issues other people have.

WISHLIST: Here are sopme of the current things on my wishlist. Among tons of other crap.

No, I STILL haven't broken down and bought J. Crew's Bow Monde dress. *Sigh*

Calvin Klein's Cross Strap Dress. I just love it. Love it.

J. Crew Pave Cable Link Bracelet. I like shiny stuff.

Anne Klein's Anise Peep Toie Slingback. Love the nude. Love the heel (go to endless.com and view it from all angles.)
Guess Nail Heels- I think these are skankalicious, but not too skank that they can't be sexy. I've been lusting for these for awhile now.
I'm stopping here so that I can go for a run before I decide that's I'm just "not in the mood".

This is the end....

A psychic told me once (long story...no, really.) that I was going to marry a rich man. Where the hell is he? Just sayin'.

LOST last night? OH so good, I thought. I seriously find myself on the EDGE of my couch lately watching it. I can't believe it's ending Sunday and I'm so glad I decided to pick back up and watch it last season- Dude, seriously. After those middle seasons of NO answers and just everyone running around the jungle, I was getting pissed off royally- and quit watching.

I have nothing in particular to talk about- Mostly because I'm f'ing drained. I'm so tired and honestly could have went to be an hour ago. I'm headed that way now.

Oh, so, yeah...remember how I mentioned Anthropologie was having a big sale for this Tuesday's sale day? Mmmm yeahhhh. If you follow other Anthro Lover cult blogs as I do religiously, you'll also see they agree when I say the sale was BLAH. It was BULP. Nothing I wanted was on sale. I did buy this ONE top that miraculously I've been wishlisting for awhile now. yay for Prevailing Winds Tank.

My Firefox favorites are overflowing with recently favorited fashion items I have my eye on, so I'll be back maybe tomorrow...maybe Friday, with a buncha cute things I'm drooling over.

My ass is crawling into bed and hopfully getting in 3 miles under my belt in the morning before work.....

Goodnight blog land. :-)

Goin' to the chapel and she's...gonna get maaaaaaried.

The Bride (light up penis veil and all) and I (loving those jello shooters. LEMME tell ya!).

HEEEYYYY ladies! So, as you all know, bachelorette party for Amanda was this weekend at Savannah Smiles Dueling Piano Bar. I'm happy to report back that obviously the other 3 bridesmaids must have taken a "let loose and become more friendly" pill. They were the girls I first met 5 or so years ago when Amanda moved from our high school to theirs. Back then I thought they were awesome and I think they may have just rubbed me the wrong way during the bridal shower a few weeks ago. ANYWAY, it's said and done and we all had a fun weekend!

That being said- I tried a wedding makeup look tonight to prepare for the big day. As maid of honor it's my duty to look brootiful for the bride's photos. LOL! Right? Right.

What I Was Going For: a soft, youthful early evening wedding look. Didn't want to go too dramatic as I feel this would draw attention away from the bride.

Here's the result: I think it looks fine, but mine definitely doesn't look like tutorial I followed. :-( BOO!! BIG BOO. I think it's because the crease color isn't dark enough as it was in the video. Note taken.....darken the crease some more. Other than that.....do you think this looks OK for the wedding? Too light? Too something else? I want it to show up on camera in photos, so I'm thinking MORE dark. Feedback please.

I'm exhausted, so I'm cutting this short. I'm hoping this week will be a productive one for my running (i.e. Do more than last week). PLUS Anthropologie is having their twice a year supah sale Tuesday morning!!! So excited about TONS of markdowns!! :-)

Love ya!!

Green Chested Divo. Keep reading.

Ima Divo

Last week, Tuesday, I started having "chest pains". (Note that chest pains is in quotations) I was a little leery because as you can imagine the thing immediately running through my mind was, "OMG. I'm too young to have a heart attack!" I figured it wasn't any such thing, but you can never be too sure. I went to bed and everything was fine the next morning. I didn't feel any pain again until last night- It HURT, man. The pain is dull and starts toward the top of my boob and kinda encircles it, if you will.

That was it- I resorted to what I do best- Internet self-diagnosis. I typed in any and all symptoms I had (which wasn't very many) into Google. I couldn't pinpoint what it was and seriously thought something just might be wrong with my heart, but I wasn't out of breath at all, had no issues with breathing.

I came into work today and started palpating myself. I would be still and breathe in, lean this way or that way trying to determine where exactly the pain was emitting from. I was in pain especially when I leaned forward and stretched out my arms and kinda "hunched" over.

Finally I was talking with a woman/friend in the office and she said the same thing happens to her. She even went to the doctor's because she too, thought she was having some sort of crazo heart attack.

Long story short- it was just an overworked/sprained muscle in her chest. I'm not saying that's what mine is, but more than likely? Yes.

This makes me feel better anyway. I popped two Aleve's and the pain is gone. Thank God. It's the little things. Haha.

Now wasn't that a great story? Obviously I'm a bored blogger today.

Running Progress: Today I ran/jogged/walked the longest distance I've ever done in ONE setting. 4 miles=51:15. I didn't care about the time, I just wanted to push myself past my comfort zone. At about mile 3.5, my chest and throat started to get tight and it was harder to breathe. Stupid lungs. haha

I only walked for maybe 10-12 minutes the entire 51 minutes. The rest of the time was a slight jog (4.5-5.5 mph) and a run at the very end (6.0).

Nutrition:
A few days ago I finally tried out the infamous Green Monster shake that every food blogger on the internet absolutely RAVES about. Here's what I've been outing into mine:

Two handfuls of spinach leaves
2 tablespoons flax seed oil
1 tablespoon of White Chocolate Peanut butter
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup rolled old fashioned oats
1 teaspoon of sugar-free vanilla pudding mix (powder!)
1/2 skim milk
1/2 cup to 1 cup of water (depends on how thick/thin you want the consistency)
Ice

Blend it all together and this is what ya get:

I'm pleased with it- Not to gross anyone out, but it has FO SHO given me more roughage in my diet. I am allll about some fiber!!

I leave you with photos of my baby. He's fury, cute and lovable and loves to work on his highlights out in the sun. :-) BAHAH!

* Is he winking in this pic? Yeah. Pretty sure he is ;-)

Allow me to entertain you with an outfit (kinda) and flowers

Note: I don't have a full length mirror anymore. It's on my TO BUY list.

For today I'm sharing....The lovely Anthropologie Chemise I bought last Tuesday. Can I just tell you- I LOVE it! Everything about it. The colors, the fit, the way it hugs my boobs (lol!) Not that anyone will ever see it unless they come over to my house during the afternoon/evening, but I enjoy feeling sexy even by my lonesome.

P.S. LOL. What is WITH the bird finger?? Sorry, guys. I have no idea how I managed to do that.

More outfits in later posts....

These days I'm into beautifying my yard and home. Allow me to show you via photos what I've done so far....

Rocking chairs, monogram flag and new planter with Celosia's :-)

The newest addition- My small, but very cute, flower bed in the backyard.

Planter on the front porch which houses Celosias. I LOVE these. I hope they grow taller!!

Bougainvillea

Lovely Hydrangea bush! He's gotten so big in just two short weeks! (you like how I call my flowers/bushes have a gender? "He's")

RUNNING UPDATE: Question for all you runners...do you have a better time outside than on a treadmill?

I thought that maybe my time/distance on the treadmill would be better than my time outdoors, but it's the exact opposite! My time outside is actually pretty damn OK. My best time indoors for 3 miles has been 38:31. Outdoors? 36:00. Why is this? Aren't treadmills supposed to "help" you more with the automatic moving belt and all that jazz? I'm thinking it's because I push myself more outside- it's more fun, more stuff to see, etc.

I ran inside today. 3 miles in 40:00. I wasn't going for time today, rather just distance. Since I wasn't trying to kill myself I was running faster at some points. Just testing out different methods.

This weekend is the Bachelorette party- after the bridal shower I'm less than thrilled to be traveling 5 hours to Savannah to hang out with people who are cold and boring. *sigh* I'm going to make the most of it, however and try to have some fun- and enjoy it as MUCH as feasibly possible. Positive thoughts. Positive thoughts.........errrr.

Lawd have mercy....is anyone on the edge of their seat during these last few episodes of LOST?? I am!! It's been awhile since LOST has done that for me. Last week was SO freaking sad. SO sad. Too bad I couldn't relish in the sadness. My friend Marion, whom I love dearly, doesn't watch LOST- she was visiting and I made her watch with me...I could REALLY tell she was getting into it, and I tried to explain as much as I possibly could to her (you all know trying to describe LOST details is like trying to explain what the color red looks like to someone who's been blind their whole life ...), but when the gang crashed on the beach and Jack told everyone Sun and Jin didn't make it, and the camera panned to Hurley....

"Dude. 'Ole boy hasn't said a word this entire show. Does he speak? His hair is UGLY!"- Marion

That's when Hurley started to cry.

That cracked our shit up.

"Marion! That's sad. Look! Now he's CRYING! And you were making fun of his hair."- Me

Had to be there. :-)

Everyone have a great Monday evening- I'm looking forward to LOST tomorrow.

I'm up and there's no turning back

I was awoken by a strange dream that involved a creeper trying to see which apartment I went into after getting off the metro...Yeah. My dreams are strange.

Anyway, I'm glad I woke up because today is Anthropologie SALE DAY!! I love this day, when I have money. Here's my loot:

Silken Pathways Dress- $168
Uhm, yeah, so, not on sale, but I couldn't wait any longer to try it out! I hear the colors are even more vibrant and dress cuter in real life. We'll see...

End of the Rainbow Earrings-
$38
Last minute addition to my bag. These have been on my wishlist because I love all the pops of color. NOT on sale.

Keep It Simple Tunic- $68
Ok, geez, yet another item NOT on sale from my purchase. It's a good price, however, and I love this bright turquoise color!

Castle Lake Dress- $89.95 (was $168)
When I've seen this on Anthropologie blogger reviews, they always pull this dress off well- Personally I love the shape and the colors and am really hoping this one is a homerun!

Paint The Night Chemise- $29.95 (was $58)
Cute little nighties/lounge-wear are just so adorable to me!

Running: I ran outside for the first time since starting my training for the Army 10-miler race. If you follow me, you know I have always ran on treadmills because my shins and right knee always get out of whack from hard outside asphalt/ground. I am happy to report that the run outside was amazing! My mom came with me, and we jogged/walked/ran a 3.5 mile trail. I only recorded 3 miles, however.

I've had my BEST time yet with 5K! Not a "great" time: 37:00. But you know what? I'm OK with this. I had a feeling my outside runs would have a better time that on that blasted treadmill...

I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that I purchased the Garmin Forerunner 305 watch. That baby gives me motivation like NO other

I think I'll try to go back to bed for another hour or so. But all I can think about is an egg white omelet?? (whiskey. tango. foxtrot?)
