You can call all you want, but there's no one home and you're not gonna reach my telephone...

I've decided to play a little game called, Getting To Know You Sunday? I think. I'm too lazy to go look, but thanks to Brit at Simplicity in Baltimore. I loved these questions and just HAD to do them.

The Questions . . .

1 - Why did you start blogging?
A year or so ago I came across fitness and workout blogs and loved what those girls were doing- I loved reading about what they were doing to keep fit and all of the recipes they posted on their blog, and I wanted a blog, too! My blog has kinda morphed into more than just fitness/nutrition now- It's definitely a hodge podge of everything! And I enjoy that more!

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
I'd love to meet everyone! (Minus the freaks) How do I freakin' choose?? If I must choose I think I'd have to say:

* Kelly @ Fitting Back In (and her mom, Big Pissy!)- because I actually kinda DO know her in real life. We went to high schools in towns right next to each other and have mutual friends, but have never actually met! I know she MUST be a BLAST! Kelly- let's work on this mmkay? geez. :-)

* Elizabeth @ Musing Experiences- She has Rosie, her Chihuahua. Our pups need to play together, for ONE. For two, I can just honestly tell how positive of a person she is through her blog alone. It's amazing how something so simple can lift you up, and she does that for me. As weird as that may sound. Thanks, Liz. :-)

* Kate @ Healthy Diva Eats- We have so much in common that I think we'd get along perfectly in real life and have SO much fun eating sushi, working out together, shopping??! I truly think I need a friend like her in my life. I wish I had known her before I left the D.C. area!!

* Blair @ Reasonably Swanky- The girl is HILARIOUS. I'm all about surrounding myself with people who make me laugh and I can make them laugh, so I would definitely need to meet her. Enough said.

* Liz @ Fit Lizzio's Blog - One of my longest bloggie friends- for good reason. She's awesome, fit, sexy, hot, funny and gives advice like you wouldn't believe- GREAT advice for that matter! She knows all there is to know (in MY opinion) about fitness and I love her attitude.

* Life is Better In Heels- I don't know her name, and I'm not sure if she reads MY blog, but I freaking LOVE hers! When I read her blog, I feel like I'm reading about myself! She's funny and tells it like it is.

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
I wish I only had those last 10 pounds to lose, but I'm getting there (20 pounds down since January!) People may say I'm fine the way I am- and in a way, yes I am. I want to lose weight so I'm healthy, so I can do things in my life longer, so I can feel better after a tough workout because my endorphins are rushing. I want to "lose those last 10" so my clothes fit better and I can walk with my head held high into a crowded room and feel like I'm awesome!

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
I wish they'd understand that I'm a straight-forward woman, who likes to put everything out in the open-I don't mind being told it's not going to work- but don't ignore me. Also, understand that I'm an only child- I like your attention. I don't have to have it constantly, but I like to be TOLD that I'm appreciated. Maybe that has to do with insecurities as well, but at least I can admit it.

5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes?
I have one lonesome tattoo of a lipstick kiss on my left shoulder. See here. You can't see it everyday unless I, duh, have on a sleeveless top- WHICH I don't usually wear to work. I love where it's at because what's the point of getting a tattoo is NO one EVER sees it unless you're naked? I personally think it'd be a waste to get one where no one could see it unless they asked. Why do MOST (Note: I said, MOST. :-) people get tattoos? To show off their personality and their likes, etc.

6 - What was the best year of your life and why?
Very, very tough question. I've had a great life. High school was fabulous, college was a journey of a lifetime.....I'd have to say the year 2006. I graduated from college, had a kick-ass college graduation PARTAY, 4th of July this year was AMAZING and I met a man who changed my life as I know it- and in some ways, this year could also be my worst for that very same reason. if you've ever had "the one that got away"- you can understand.

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day. Enjoy the fact that I can have short hair and get ready in the morning in 15 minutes. Take my girlfriend/wife on a random dinner date. Manscape (haha).

8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
Wouldn't say anything I drink tends to raise eyebrows, but my drinks of choice are usually Pinot Noir, Vodka & Something or Mich Ultra. Depends on my mood.

Thank you ABC Wednesday. Thank you.

If ABC's newest comedy night line-up on TV, that being, "The Middle", "Modern Family" & "Cougar Town" don't make you chuckle and feel cheery after a tough week......I don't know what will :-)
Tonight, I'm thankful these shows are on because I've had the worst couple days. Blah. :-)

By the way- thank you ALL for the comments in the last post about my outfit- Made me smile- and thanks for the condolences on my butt-ugly rash! LOL It's, happily, going away, slowly but surely.

Would you like to see my rash or wedding pictures?

BAHHHH, omg. Let me first say, I'm sorry if I gross anyone out, because this "rash" I had from last Friday until the present, is quite disturbing even to me. Here it is on my arm....

My other arm and chest looked exactly like this....Luckily the Doc gave me some cream to make it go away and I'm happy to report it looks 1,000 times better. Ugh. It was so ugly and itchy I cried a couple times yesterday. Talk about depressing, man!

In prettier news- my friend Ashley's wedding in Florida was a blast, as I knew it would be. There ceremony was short and sweet (a little too short for my taste, but whatev. haha) and reception was typical of a night with me and my friends. So much fun and dancing- and open bar ;-) I stuck to the light liquors all night. Red Bull and Vokda my friends...

Outfit: Not the best photo, but one of the only ones that was taken of me and I was soooo not ready :-) This isn't the dress I wanted to wear, but in the end I'm glad the other didn't quite fit yet- this dress was more appropriate for the setting.

The dress is from Anthropologie and it runs slightly big. I even sized down. I'm thinking of having the sides taken in a bit after I drop a few more lbs. Cardigan is from J. Crew and the yellow flower sandals, Victoria's Secret. The weather was sunny but still cool at night- loved it!!

My good friend Marion and I cracking up.

The NEW Mr. and Mrs.!
Back to the real world tomorrow- I think I'd much rather live in wedding fantasy land forever, thanks :-)

I got yo crazy, I got yo crazy....

Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer!!!

Britney, girl, your song dances through my head this morning like raindrops on a light, fluffy cloud. I've had Gaga's newest, "Telephone" stuck in my head like you wouldn't BELIEVE. During work, at home, during meetings.... Granted I have been listening to it about 15 times on the way to work and back home lately ;-) What can I say? I love The Ga.

Luckily Anthro's sale didn't contain much of anything I've been eyeballing except The Fairy Cake Dress by Floreat:

This dress isn't everyone's style, but I am a sucker for vintage girly dresses and sweetheart-ish necklines. It's half price, now down to $80. I pray that it's there in my size come Friday- which, by the way, is when IRS. gov predicts my tax refund will be in my account. Can I get an Amen??! :-)

Friends....The J. Crew Mow Monde Dress is now on SALE as well! I'm still torn between two colors...HELP- Thoughts? Suggestions? I know y'all have an opinion and I need help deciding you fashionistas, you! Is everyone still thinking the Mint Green? Or the beautiful Tropical Blue?

This J. Crew Lorelie Dress is on sale for $78. I think I'll be purchasing. I love grey- it's so chic.

Next up- Summer Sandals still on my wish-list:

Although you can't tell-these have the cutest ruffle looking design on the heel. $60 from Endless.com

LOVE these straps- which really spice up a typical, boring flat sandal. $70 from endless.com
(Yes, aware this is not a sandal. hee hee) I love chunky, wedge-like heels. They have such character! The price is the SALE price. Faryl Robin's shoes are always so damn expensive. Geez $126 from endless.com

It's a rainy, dreary day here in lower Alabama- makes me want to nap. I'm hungry. That is all.

:-) Happy St. Patrick's Day!

No title- Just read me

Man, what a day. The work day FLEW by, but mostly because I had to brief the base commander on my job's social media plan. I work for the government and love my job, but I was thrown into this briefing sort of last moment. I did get through it, though- an so glad it's over with.

Moving on...tomorrow is Anthropologie Sale day. Same old story here, ladies. Still no tax refund for I'm crossing my fingers none of the items I've had in my wish list go on sale tomorrow. As badly as I want them to- I don't want them to sell out. BLAH. BOO YOU IRS!!! Send me my damn money.

Had an awesome weekend filled with friends' birthdays. For the record: I must be a natural attraction for Pisces- Karinah's birthday was the 4th, my mother was born on the 9th...My friends Jamie and April share March 14, Marion and Saracat-today, Becky-Saturday, Jason-the 27th. It's madness I tell you.

Ashley's wedding is Saturday and I'm still not fitting into the special dress I wanted to fit into :( Sad day, but I know one of these days it'll zip all the way up and I can proudly share with you the before and after pictures! Look for photos of the dress I am wearing later this week!

Is anyone else addicted to YouTube make-up tutorials? I have been for about a year and a half now- and I'm looking through my Favorited YouTube videos for a eye-look for the weekend...I'll post that look and video later as well. I'm so excited to get made-up. It's been awhile.

My life has been so uneventful for the past couple weeks- thanks for hanging in there, ladies, still reading my boring blog material.

I leave you all with a picture of cupcakes, because, frankly, I'm craving them something FIERCE!!! LOL

Did you hear???

I've been a horrible blogger- but I've been so, so SO tired since last Thursday. I think it's some medicine I'm on. I'm just dead tired at the end of the day and my usual morning workouts were ceased until just this morning. I have lost another inch from my waist and 3 pounds. Since last Thursday! VERY strange, but makes me extremely motivated. I can see my bicep muscle coming out again. Oh, how I love that muscle.

In wedding news: I ordered THIS invitation for my best friend's Bridal Shower, TWICE, from two different internet stores, and it's out of stock from the actual company who produces them. oh, how I loved these. I loved the bright colors and kitchy feel.

My questions is: why won't they take them off the website if they're out of stock? Ugh!
Anyway- we're going with these instead (IF they're IN STOCK!). She still wanted the Couples theme on the invitation, and we can still use the same general colors for the shower decor.
My butt has been bitten so hard by the wedding bug the past few weeks- what with a wedding to go to NEXT weekend and all my Maid of Honor duties for Amanda- I've been dreaming of my own wedding. Can someone please find me a hilarious, smart, charming, witty man to marry? Other than that- I'm ready.

I am in LOVE with these two dresses from Demetrios. They're pretty much what I dream of wearing on my big day. Especially the first: a little lace,a little shine, strapless sweetheart neckline. *sigh*. I'm sure this dress won't be around when my time comes....

Also by the same designer, LOOK at THIS dress: In all actuality- THIS is my dream dress, but I couldn't find it online anywhere ;-)

Hope everyone of you have a fabulous Wednesday- it's rainy here. Makes my mood very BLAH. I need some cheer!

Please, officially meet Mr. Barky Von Schnauzer (aka: Bradykins)

Uh, yeah- so, I don't know how to spell Schnauzer and didn't feel like looking it up...but I just realized blogger spellchecks for ya. Hot damn!

Today's blog is dedicated to my son. My furry, fur ball of joy- Brady. You all need to be officially introduced, because he's the coolest.

Brady came to me (and my family) through a Soldier who was going off to Iraq. He has a little daughter and her mother wouldn't let her keep the Chihuahua. At the time I lived with my parents. It was a year after I graduated college and I was still trying to find my niche and jobby-job. They already had a rat terrier named Daisy, and being the dog people that we are- just couldn't say no to Brady.

He was named after Tom Brady- Not because any of our family loves Tom, but because me and Dad are Patriots fans (have been for years and years and years), and Brady was the easiest, shortest team member name.
He was tiny. So tiny in fact that we could barely see him scurrying across the floor beneath our feet. This led to a scare one evening, when my mom came in the front door and Brady was excited to see her- got under her feet and hurt his little skull. Poor thing. We were all scared- we immediately drove to the vet and learned he had a slight concussion, but would be just fine.

Brady sleeps in bed with me, and one night he slid between the wall and the bed. I could sense he wasn't beside me anymore and panicked for a second and scopped him out from his tiny alcove of terror!! He was still asleep....Yeah. LOL

When I moved 4 hours away, Brady came with me. he kept me company when I felt lonely and sad to be away from my friends and my family. He brought me joy when I'd see him at the top of the steps greeting me when I came home from work, and he'd lap up wine from my wine glass. Yeah, I admit it. So what? It was a tiny sip. hahaha

He came with me to DC, and lived in the city for awhile- Not a fan, Brady. He didn't really like not having grass and friendly neighbors.

We're both now settled in out first home together- Brady has his own little yard out back, fenced in, where he can play all day. He loves to sunbathe and bark at kitties (egged on by me..."Get 'em Brady. Get those bastards!"). He still uses pee pads when I'm away at work (good boy), but knows the real bathroom is outside.

He's stingy and wants all of the attention, especially when I get on the phone. He wakes me up with kisses and by standing on my shoulder staring down at me, wagging his tail- He wants his morning dog biscuit. Or his belly rubbed.

I don't know what I'd do without him. Brady is such great company and the sweetest little boy you'll ever meet....He's my baby boy. :-)
