Beautiful Blogger Award

Hee Hee - My first blog award- How awesome :-) Thanks to the lovely Natalie!

Photobucket

So 7 random facts about me, huh? Here we go...

1. I'm an only child. And I never wanted brothers or sisters. I think I would have been happy with some as I got older, but when I was younger I was very much content having the toys and attention all to myself. Even though I am an only, I'm not a brat- Spoiled? Sure. Brat? No. And trust me- I have only-children friends who do fall under the bratty category ;-)

2. I've never had a boyfriend. Maybe this isn't weird to some, but to me- it is. Sure, I've dated and been on dates, but never had a serious-serious boyfriend. I think, however, it has really made me appreciate being by myself and having "me" time. I know that I can live by myself and support myself and my loves in life. I'm 26 and can honestly say I've done so much already- I think Mr. Right is just waiting for the right time to surprise me. Let's hope.

3. I get grossed out by certain words. Tummy, tasty, yummy, gooey, cuisinart...I. CANNOT. STAND to hear these words spoken. It takes all I have to type them without making a nasty face. I'm not sure why this is- maybe because they sound like something you'd coo to a baby. lol. But I just can't stand to hear these words. of course there are exceptions to this rule- It just depends.

4. I need to have sound when I eat. May it be the radio or TV or a LOUD humming of the fan- anything to drown out the sound of people EATING. If I hear someone eating I can't eat. Therefore, I need sound when I eat.

5. Anthropologie is my FAVORITE store, ever. But I'm sure this was a given. Funny thing is, I never really liked it only a few years ago- it seems, to me, their style has taken a turn for the better- and maybe my style has changed for the better as well :-)

6. I always out my right shoe on first. I wouldn't call myself supersticious.......or would I? If I do this, I guess I am. Somewhere I heard, a looong time ago, that you should always put your right shoe on first for good luck- To this day I will NOT ever put my left shoe on first. Even when I'm trying on shoes in the store, or if my left shoe is the first shoe accessible....nope. Won't do it.

7. My childhood habit of twisting my hair, has followed me into adulthood. If you ever saw me when I was a kid, I had a toy in one hand and my finger twirling my hair in the other- and I STILL do it. If you know me you can tell if I'm either tired, thinking or bored- because I'll be twisting my hair.

Let the workout anxiety begin

Ok, so maybe the anxiety isn't so much the "working out again" part- but, well...yeah it kinda is. I've been stuck in a rut going on about 3 months now- I was moving around with my job, moving back to Alabama, buying a house, etc. etc, and this has led me to where I am today- out of shape. It's hard for me to admit, because I always took pride in the fact that I had nice, shapely, strong legs, good cardiovascular strength and I was strong. I've lost it. And I'm scared about getting it back.

For one, I hated the feeling I got when I signed up at the new gym today. I felt as though the woman showing me around the gym didn't understand me when I said I knew about the machines, I knew what dumbell moves to do and how much cardio I can handle. Shut the hell up lady. Then I glanced at myself in the mirror and to me...I didn't look so knowledgable. My outside needs to match my insides again.

For two, this gym likes to measure your bodyfat and take your measurements for you. Great. Wonderful. I'm all about keeping track- but I can just see the woman's face and hear her nags now. "Oh, you're waist is too big." "Your BMI is in the unhealthy range." Yeah lady I KNOW THIS. Why do you think I'm here? Plus, I've always thought BMI was bullshit. Do you know for someone my height (5'10) and if I got back down to where I felt GREAT-180lbs (yes, I'm admitting weight. Who cares) I'd STILL be considered overweight? And I looked DAMN good at that weight! DAMN good. I hate the BMI scale. Just sayin'. haha

For three- In the back of my mind I'm hesitant about losing the extra weight I've put on. I have a closet full of NICE clothes, and most are tight now- but...my friends, what happens when I lose the weight I KNOW I can and WILL drop, and my nice clothes don't fit anymore? Seamstress and tailor, sure- and then of course there's always buying NEW clothing, but oddly enough- I think the thought of my body being too SMALL for my current clothing scares me. How weird am I?

But, I've taken the first step in looking like old-school Britney (muhaha!)- I signed up at the gym and have a class schedule in hand (The gym I joined even offers BODYPUMP, which I am in love with. Great total body workout.). Now I need to tweak my diet and actually break a sweat. Easier said than done- and why am I so scared of this? Something I once loved and craved., has become something I fear. *sigh*.

Fashion Finds - Anthro and Aldo

I had to share a few of the findings I've come across online - and might I say, I don't know HOW I ever lived without online shopping! Especially when one store is out of stock of an item- it's as easy as 1-2-3 to find it online...somewhere!

This skirt, for example. It's by Edme and Esyllte for Anthropologie, called The Sidestep Skirt. I believe it was in stores only a few months ago, but since sold out, of course. I found it on ebay, in my size, for $40 bucks total. I know, I know- $40 is still quite a bit for a skirt, but considering the retail price- I'm happy...NOW...what to pair it with? Ideas??

These earrings are darling! $68 from J. Crew.

Pearl Jewel Box Earrings

These babies remind me of shoes Anthro would also sell- but for a FRACTION of the cost! These are darling, I think- and come in three colors.

Untitled - because it can be

Sadly, the holidays have, once again, come and gone. I love this time of year and am sad to see it go- and this year they went by even more quickly, what with me moving and settling into my new home. I feel as though I put my tree and few lights up and immediately had to take them down :-/ I'm almost a little down-in-the-dumps about it- but then I realize I have so much to look forward to in the new year- weddings of friends, my new home, my fairly new job...

Why is it so hard at times for us to think positively- and easier to dwell on things that aren't right in our lives? I do it. I admit that. Sometimes I think too much about what-ifs and past situations- situations I need to forget and move past. The "what-ifs" in life really bother me- and they drag me down. Should I make a resolution for the new year to consciously make the effort to push these thoughts out of my mind? I've never been one to make new year resolutions- simply because I've always thought you should strive to make changes whenever you want- not only at the start of a new year. I don't know what 2010 (weird sounding, isn't it?) will bring me- but I hope and pray that it's only good things- and that with the bad (there will inevitably always be some bad in your life), I can get back up, dust myself off and know I'm worth more than what I think I am. That's what I want for myself in the new year...

No new year's plans this year- conjuring up ideas for next year, though. I think skiing in Colorado would be awesome! Seeing as how I've NEVER set foot on a pair of skis, or snow thicker than a half inch for that matter, it'd be hilarious I'm sure. Anyone heard of Beaver Creek in CO? What about any other ideal places a big group could go?

Beaver Creek, CO Resort

Have you guys seen the movie "Julie and Julia"? I just watched it On Demand today- and loved it. I thought it was uplifting and inspiring. Definitely better than I thought it'd be. I'd recommend it.

I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends this past week- I have another (almost. I work Tuesday) full week off before heading back to work, and will surely find ways to spend my days. Even if it's sitting on the couch relaxing with Brady in lap, and enjoying every single minute of it!

Did you get any favorite gifts this year?? Do tell! :-)

Anthropologie Addict

I've said this before in a post long, long ago- and several since, but my FAVORITE store ever, ever- is Anthropologie. It's weird, because a three years ago their style just wasn't...MY style- but I think my tastes have changed and their clothes have totally evolved. Work was sooo slow today, since everyone else who works for the government was off - except my office- why? Because we're the shit (bhaha). So because it was a slow work day I searched blogs for Anthropologie lovers and found a few blogs that make my heart melt. I'm serious. I didn't know bloggers like this existed, who were obsessed with Anthro as much as I am- We're talking reviews on how items fit, photos of how it looks on a REAL human being (not a posed model) and just overall helpful ideas and outfit tips. LOVE. Here are the few I found. if you love Anthro, PLEASE go visit their sites:

Anthroholic

Anthropologie Addict

Anthropologie Aficianado

Effortless Anthropologie

I hate that Anthro is sooo expensive (read: first born child down payment), but somehow I manage to scrounge up $200 bucks and buy what I crave. Crazy? Perhaps. I am the first to admit my champagne taste on a beer budget ;-)

These sites inspired me to share a few items currently saved in my Anthro shopping bag- Do you guys love the store as much as I do? If so, what are some of the things you've had YOUR eye on?

Reverie Top - ($49.95)
This just screams classy and put-together in my opinion. Paired with a black pencil skirt, or simply comfy jeans and stilettos. LOVE!!

Sugar-On-Top Tank - ($78)
Super cute and casual. Would look awesome underneath a cute cardigan.
Snakebite belt - ($32.00)
This belt comes in three different colors, and if I like it enough- I'm getting the grey and black, too.

Carmen Tieback - ($79.95)
THIS photo does it no justice. Take a look at this review. Looks way cuter on!

Long Winter's Night Chemise - ($68.00)
How toasty and comfy does this look? I'd definitely wear it as a tunic top, though. Saw it on a blog worn as that - MUCHO LOVE!

Burlapp Rosette Dress (SOLD OUT ONLINE)
I actually snagged this baby on ebay. Sure, it was a teeny bit pricier than the last price on the website, but I was sad when it sold out so quickly. I love big details, and the mens pinstriped-esque skirt is darling!

As the Burlapp dress did, when things sell out on the website I get so sad. It's tought o place a dearly loved top or dress in your shopping bag for when you have the money to blow- come back - and it's SOLD OUT. Booo :( tee hee.

Everyone have a fantastic Monday evening. Tomorrow is my Friday and I couldn't be more thankful!

P.S. After the holidays my blogs will surely have more content on fitness, workouts, etc. For now, I'm just blogging freely :-)

P.P.S. I found the owners of my overnight guest (Chihuahua I found in my yard yesterday sunbathing!), and they live right down the street lol. They said Chico has gotten out before and comes back later. I just coulodn;t risk that poor baby not going back home, and sleeping in the cold. They came and got him tonight. I kinda miss him. :-(

[i had to be a dog lover]

Today I was looking out my window and what do I see? A Chihuahua-ish dog roaming around my yard- and at first I thought maybe it was the neighbors- so I sat back down with my own Brady and watched more TV. After awhile I decided to give him a treat, just for fun you know...He ate it happily (sweet thing) and then went and laid in a sunny spot of my yard...He has a collar and tag, so he belongs to someone- and he wasn't leaving. I couldn't bare to let him stay out in the cold, especially tonight when the lows are supposed to be 28!! Eeeekkk!!!

So being the nice, kind dog lover I am, brought him in and set him up a place to sleep for the night, until I can call the vet on his tag. I haven't named him- just been calling him Dog. LOL. I almost feel kinda guilty- what if his owners live on this street and are looking for him? Then I realized I was doing the right thing. The vet can look him up and get him to his right home :-)

Brady isn't so sure about him, though. They get a long fine and Dog minds really well (better than spoiled ass Brady, even!), but I'm pretty sure Brady has a jealous streak in him...tsk tsk!

So last night I went to a bonfire at a friends house- here are a few photos that make me giggle. These guys are FREAKING ridiculous and hilarious- if you couldn't tell from the photo.

I hate that work is tomorrow- luckily I only have to go in TWO days! WOO HOO! And the only other day I work in the year of '09 is the 29th- the rest I'm off. Whatever will I do with my time? ;-) I can think of lots of things I could do besides work. haha

Hope you all have a great Monday!

I feel it- those blah's again!

I'm having a really blah sorta day- I know we all have them, but I really dislike them damnit. Let's just stop having blah days. Can we all agree to that? Easier said than done. Maybe if I just didn't think so much, I'd be happier more often. But I think waaay too much about everything. That can be good- that can be bad. And now I'm rambling.

9 days until Christmas? Are you serious? I still have two more things left to buy, not so bad. Payday is tomorrow, so my hard earned money will go towards bills (yay) and those two presents. Ina few paydays I'll be pushing "send" online to make my first mortgage payment. It's exciting! At least it's not being flushed down the drain for rent :-)

It's been flood city where I live in the Southeast. Thankfull not anywhere close to where my house is, but in parts of the state. Today was sunny, however and it looks like it's going to turn cool! I love chilly weather- oh, but more rain this weekend.

I spent the better part of today watching "Shakira: Oral Fixation Tour On-Demand". LOL. Don't ask me how I stumbled into the on-demand area of my TV, but I'm glad I did. I always knew I loved Shakira and her hip shakin' moves, but now I really love her- this happens when I watch live performances of artists- I fall in love. Her voice is amazing- and that hair of hers? GORGEOUS! And her body is banging- all curvy and stuff. She's definitely one of my girl crushes. Do me a favor and go download her song "Inevitable". Yes, it's sung in espanol but it's one of my favorite songs by her. So beautiful. haha SHAKIRA SHAKIRA!

You should hear me when it comes on my ipod- I start singing it (or trying to) in spanish right along with her- I guess I have the words memorized by now. My friends love to laugh at that.

Tomorrow is office Christmas party complete with Dirty Santa and food. Speaking of which I need to get to making my Chicken and Artichoke Dip- first time I've ever made it, but sounds delicious. I'll post photos later if I decide it's worthy-looking :-)

I'm off to enjoy the rest of my blah day. I need a good Christmas movie to watch to perk me up....

What's on YOUR Christmas wish list?

Christmas time is, like a lot of people's, my favorite time of year- for one, I LOVE colder weather. Not COLD weather, but cold-ER. I live in the South, so it's never really cold, and as much as I like being warmer, cold is a nice change and I can wear cute tights and crap :-). Another reason I love Christmas time is the overall feeling, no matter if it "feels like Christmas" or not, there's always that teeny tiny feeling you get that's different from any other day of the year- or maybe that tingle I get is telling me to go to the Dr.? Ha, nah.

Anyway, I'm doing my Christmas wish list. Just a few of the top things I would really like if Santa brought me this year. WHAT ARE YOURS??

1. Clarisonic Mia Facial Cleanser- I don't know WHY I want this so badly. I never switch up my face routine, because I have something that works for me (tip: don't EVER fix something that isn't broken. Especially when it comes to your face wash. If you're using a face wash you've used for years and it never breaks you out and balances your skin- please for all that is sacred, don't try new products. It's really a waste. And believe you ME- I love buying and trying, but I always come right back to my old stuff.), but I have heard so many great things about this little guy! How well it gets the remaining make-up and dirt off your face being the number one rave. It's precious, too.

2. Rocking chairs (two) from Lowe's- My front porch is screaming for these! They would look PERFECT sitting out there. My mom actually wants me to have these, and at first I was like,"Eh. I'd rather have something else for the house first." But, I really don't need anything else at the moment. I can picture myself sitting outside, rocking away in one of these babies with my sweet tea in one hand and my fan in the other. HA! yeah right. Still wish for these. Did my Mom take the initiative and buy them? We'll see.

3. Clark wall shelf and bench from JCPENNY- *sigh* This is so cute- cuter than the chairs maybe? I have a blank wall in the kitchen area, and granted the kitchen isn't huge, but this would be PERFECT. For one, extra seating! For two, extra storage once I start accumulating more junk- ANDDDD little coat rack thingies. MAJOR want, but I haven't told Santa or anyone I wish for this- so I'm on my own with this one.

4. Jessica Simpson Vernica boots- Again something I haven't asked out loud for. I probably won't even buy them for myself later, because I recently had to buy three new pair of boots. I HAD to. Why? I don't know. ;-) I love the heels on this boot- The spike. Like if someone was trying to mug you, one hit of your sole to their chest and you'd be scot free. haha Oh my God.....How did this turn violent?? Merry Christmas. Think Christmas thoughts.......lights, tinsel shine happy...........

5. Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver earrings - I'm not a HUGE real jewelry person. My costume stuff works just fine for my outfits, but these earrings- so simple, yet so chic. They're like pearls, but not. I love pearls, but they get boring to me, and these would be perfect, no? I think they retail for about $80 depending on what size you get. I didn't ask for these either, but maybe one day I'll have some extra money to spend on these.

So this is my small wish list- tell me what's on yours!

It's currently 8:30 am on a rainy Sunday morning- weekend is already gone, and I just had a hankering for Mexican food. Yup. Just now. *sigh*. The gym I joined is closed on Sundays so most likely this day will be P90X's Stretch or Yoga dvd.

I haven't officially started back training or eating well- call me anal, but I just really do like to start things evenly. i.e. On a Monday. I read in my Oxygen magazine that you shouldn't start on a Monday- why wait until tomorrow what you can do today?? Uhm, because I'm SUPER organized and in my mind Monday sounds better. Ok, Oxygen? It's not that I put it off- I just really want to start where I want to start. Plus, I need tools. I need a planner where I can write down my workouts, and I'm buying the perfect one today. I find that the more obsessed organized and focused I am on what I eat and what I do for my workout, the more I tend to stick with it. My plan and what I'm eating next HAS to always be in the back of my mind, or else I'll fall off the wagon and eat something I really don't want. Does this make sense? In my mind it makes perfect sense, but to others it probably just sounds nuts.

Enough rambles. Everyone have a great Sunday, and if you're in my neck of the woods, STAY DRY!

Product Rave: Candles By Victoria

Listen to me very closely-- if you love Yankee candles or ANY other candles that smell fabulous, you NEED to try a small-town Texas shop called Candles By Victoria. I came across these candles by way of YouTube (yes, I have a YouTube obsession. I've accepted this.) and just had to try them. Since then, I've purchased several candles and little tarts- and have loved most all of them. I'm SUCH a candle snob, and won't buy any candle unless it's from Yankee or another reputable brand (sorry Wal-Mart and Glade), and these are by far the best and strongest smelling scents.

Victoria is the business owner and maker of these delicious candles- and she is as sweet as can be! So helpful! I had a broken candle in one of my orders and she immediately shipped me a replacement, no charge. Great customer service and a great price for such strong smelling scents.

The candle in the photo is one of my favorites called "Bella Swan", after the Twilight character. It's amazing- and since you can't smell it, it can be described (by Victoria on her website)

She describes each and every scent she makes on her website, here. She makes any scent you can think of: Lush dupes, fruity, perfume inspired, baked goods, tropical and her own concoctions, and each scnet is SPOT on to the real thing. The scent throw is awesome- you can smell it from rooms away!

Her candles come in several sizes and you can even purchase these small tarts (called Scent Shots) for $2 bucks each- that way you can try the scent out without having to buy the entire candle first.I would definitely recommend going this route if you're a newbie to the company!

Check out Victoria on YouTube!

It's chilly- bonfire? Yes, please...+ Christmas survey

Curently in Southeast Alabama, it's a chilly 50 degrees- and I love it! perfect! Ok, not quite "perfect" ideal weather, but I love chillier weather. It makes me happy I can wear skirts/dresses and cute tights and not get all freaking hot. I think my body gets hotter than anyone else's on earth.

Last night, the parents and their dog came and visited Brady and I at our house :-) We watched a few movies: "Christmas Vacation" ("Save the neck for me, Clark..."), a Christmas tradition, and "Inglorious Bastards," which I thought was pretty good! It was slow going at first, and me being tired at that point wasn't helping- It was great having them come over and spend some quality time.

I was itching to do something today and was then invited to a bonfire. Aren't bonfires just the best? I love them- so cozy and junk. haha I may go. It'll probably be all dudes, but I'm hoping to coax a girl friend of mine to go. Do you guys do bonfires in the fall/winter? In the South it's a big thing!

I found this cute Christmas-y survey and decided to pass some time. Y'all have a great Saturday!

[random thoughts from 25-35 year olds]

Like sassynerd, I too never repost things like this, but I can totally relate to these statements- these are those "it's so funny because it's true" sayings. Love this!

- I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

-More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

-Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. -I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?

-Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

-That's enough, Nickelback.

-I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

-Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with?

-Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

-There is a great need for sarcasm font.

-Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the f was going on when I first saw it.

-I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

-How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

-I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

-The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.

- A recent study has shown that playing beer pong contributes to the spread of mono and the flu. Yeah, if you suck at it.

- LOL has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

- I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

- Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

- Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".

- How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

- I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

- Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

-What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

- While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and i nstinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

- MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

-Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

-I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

- Bad decisions make good stories

-Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

- Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

-If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

-You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

-Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

Lush Crush: Buffy Body Butter

Hey ladies- quick Friday morning product review for ya!

I have been crushing on Buffy from Lush since I bought it! It's amazing- one of their best products in my opinion, and several other people's, and a MUST HAVE if you have dry skin. My skin tends to be normal most days, but my legs seem to get "ashy" during winter months. This body butter exfoliates and moisturizes like crazy.

It contains cocoa and shea butters (to soften and moisturize), ground rice, almonds and aduki beans (to exfoliate).

Seriously, when I use this it feels like there's a protective film on my skin- and not a slimy or grimy film. The first time I used it, I just rubbed it on in the shower and rinsed away, just like you would with a soap. I cleaned with my regular body wash first and just used this to mouisturize- a few hours later I went to wash my hands and the WATER started beading up! THAT'S how moisturizing it is. Some people may not like that feeling- but to me, it's not greasy and is perfect for those spots that need extra hydration.

You can purchase it in a small and larger size- The small size being more wallet friendly at about $11 bucks.

LOVE, love this product!

Lush Crush

As I said in my last post I'm starting new "themed" blog posts- hopefully everyone enjoys them. This is just my opinion- but I always love to hear what you think, so leave those comments!

"Lush Crush" will be posts dedicated to Lush products. It will feature a Lush item I'm using at the moment and will simply be my opinion and "review" of the product...so be on the lookout for that my dears!
If you haven't heard of Lush, it's a bath and body company that makes all-natural, organic products that are cute and make you feel clean and girly (especially after a rough workout!)- and are just fun to use. I've been using their products for about a year now and love what they have to offer. Visit their site for ALL products, here: lushusa.com. If you hurry, you can still get some Christmas goodies to share with friends and family- trust me, some of these products are SO stinking cute! I even bought a few Christmas things myself, to name a few:

"Christmas Eve Bubble Bar"

"Angel's Delight Soap"

"Jingle Spells Bath Bomb"

I have yet to use any of these and have DRAWER crammed full of Lush soaps, bath bombs, bubble bars, face masks, etc. I NEED to seriously, use up! Since they're all natural it's not always the best idea to save them- as they're best used fresh. One reason why I'm doing posts like this- willing myself to use up the items I have stored away.

Later ladies :-)

Damask is LOVE! House photos...

I'm so excited to write this blog- I think my blogging fever has finally returned. You faithful followers know I've been lax about updates for the past, oh, 6 months! I was living in DC, doing the internship thing, and now that I'm (somewhat) settled into my NEW, fabulous, cute first home, I want to get back into blogging on a regular basis. No it won't be everyday, but definitely more often. Here's an update blog once again to catch you all up:

1- New Home:
First and foremost, I wanted to share photos of the new home with you all! I'm still decorating and getting everything in it's rightful spots (I'm such a neat freak)- but I'm happy enough with the progress to post photos. This is my first house and I think it's prefect for me and the dog:

Front- 3 bed, 2.5 bath Garden Home

Close #1- Dresses and suits are in another. Yikes.

Messy ass dresser! Stuff on the floor goes on a vanity that hasn't been shipped yet. :(

Living Room- complete with dog.

Kitchen- need a HUGE rug instead of those two tiny ones.

I'm in love with my bedroom. Can't wait till the finishing touches are added.

What can I say? Red is sexy! Nice Charlie Brown tree aye?

I LOVE the color I chose for my bed and bath. It looks blue but it's a light grey. That and black damask print mesh sooo well together.

Toilet/Shower "room". Why there's a door and so tiny, I'll never know.

I need MAJOR advice on this room. I know I want to paint it a lighter tan color (brings out a tan on the bedspread print and it's neutral), but I have no clue how to decorate...HELP!

The official housewarming party is set for after the holidays, Jan 16th- so who's coming?! I'm so excited to have all my friends (most of them) in one place. My house isn't huge, and I've invited so many people already-we can all squeeze in tight and love each other. No photos of the other bedroom or other bathrooms because they aren't up to "post on blog" standards juuust yet.

2- Gym/Workouts:
Such a sore subject. I'm not in a good place with my fitness right now. I'm VERY dissapointed in myself for letting myself gain weight and get out of shape. When I was in DC living off of per diem money, I ate good. ALL. THE. TIME. Top that off with not working out regularly and you get weight gain. My clothes don't fit and I don't feel good about myself. Being honest- no pity party here. I did however join a gym here finally! It's an all women's gym. Never really thought I'd care to join one, but I'm just more comfortable and push myself harder when I'm not working out in front of dudes. Sad, but true. Maybe this is a mistake seeing as how I need to meet a great guy and the gym may be my only hope around here! BAHAH!

3- New Job
Not "new" new, but new place. Still doing Public Affairs. I've been working here now for about a month and a half and enjoy it. The people, work, etc. Things have been kind of slow, but will pick up soon, so ask me later how I feel about it all. lol. Just kidding.

4- My Best Friend's WEDDING
I'm not getting married, sadly...anytime soon, but my best friend since 8th grade, whom I've kNOWN since Kindergarten IS! Amanda is marrying John June 5th of next year and she asked me to be her maid of honor. I LOVE wedding junk- the planning, picking colors, picking bridesmaids, and so on- so I was excited and overwhelmed with tears when she asked me! Here are the oh-so-flattering bridesmaids dresses:

I love her so much- I just can't believe she's actually getting married. We were just in 9th grade in high school, watching Britney Spears videos and walking around our small town like bums. I miss those days- but so happy we're still in each others lives...

I cannot wait to start connecting with you all again- come back to me blogging buddies, come back! Some of you know I got into a funk a few months ago- so many things were changing and happening to me, and I couldn't get control. Nothing major. Life just happened, but I have so many ideas and new things I want to start doing with the blog. It'll still be mainly to keep me on track with my diet and exercise, but I want to add Glitz and Glam! I want to share my love for makeup, body products, clothing and everything in between. I've gotten so into makeup guru's on YouTube and have tried so many new looks with different colors this past year and a half. I want to share my finds and make it a regular post topic. I'm not shallow- As Gwen would say, I'm just a girl!

You ladies have a wonderful what's left of this Wednesday evening!

Our Christmas Card photo. My face looks fat! Eek.
